I just watched the new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Phantom Liberty. I really need to upgrade my PC but I can't afford to upgrade both the cpu and gpu at the same time.

It's really what cyberpunk should have been. The AI and draw distance are getting a complete rework, so thats why the CPU requirements are so high (i7 12700, Ryzen 7 7800 for 1080p 60fps without ray tracing)

I'm kinda glad they are pushing higher end hardware now though.

Interestingly I hear these changes will also apply to the base game. Hopefully for the people who's PCs are already struggling to run the game will have the opportunity to tweak settings back to playable.

Display: AOC 27G2G4, set for 1920x1080 144HZ... this was bought for my last computer so working on getting a different monitor to go with my new rig. For now it does fine. Playing Horizon Zero Dawn and it looks gorgeous.

That's a pretty good system, but I'd suggest you hold off on going 1440P (be it 2560x1440 or 3440x1440) until you can upgrade your GPU at the same time. The RTX 3070 would limit you to Med (may even have to set to Low, depending on the game) graphics setting + RT in newer AAA games (as shown by the RTX 3070 performance vs the RX 6800 as HUB had demonstrated).

But, if you play only eSport titles, then I see no issue with the RTX 3070, these days, 8GB VRAM on mid range cards isn't ideal, especially for AAA titles.

I have to disagree, there's no way a 3070 will have any problems with 1440p. I don't have any problem with anything at 1440p with a 2080FE (7700x).

You can't, since as far as they've said, you wouldn't even be able to access your library on a Windows 7 system as the client won't run at all.

You have to use compatibility mode or other tools available to fix compatibility with really old games that have issues with 10 onwards.
