Hmm, rather odd choice of cpu. I would have went with a 5600 or X to get pcie 4.0 support. Especially with a gpu that has express lanes absent.

The rtx 3050 only has 8 express lanes. The 5600g only support pcie 3.0 so you have rtx 3050 running in 8 pcie 3.0 express lanes instead of 8 pcie 4.0 like it actually supports. The 5600x would give you pcie 4.0 support. This is twice the bandwidth of pcie 3.0

My rtx 3050 runs quite well because it's paired with my 12600k. I tried it in my 5300g computer and it's slower. It's about the same as a gtx 1070, maybe a tad better. It was still fine but definitely not as good as it is in my 12600k. The difference is noticeable.

I would expect the 5600x to be a similar uplift here being pcie 4.0 compliant.

In actual game play there is only a couple of fps difference between PCIe 3.0 & 4.0 with the 3050 so its really not a huge loss.

Agreed, the RTX 3050 is really too weak to take full advantage of PCIe 3.0 x8, let alone PCIe 4.0 x8. Now, IF it were a more powerful card, like an RTX 3080 Ti/RX 6950 XT, then perhaps the PCIe buswidth might make a difference. A weak card like the RTX 3050, I seriously doubt would saturate the PCIe3.0 x8 buswidth.

still confused, I think you meant 5800x, or R9.

If you are going for R7/5800x the MB is fine.

If you are running R9/5900x the MB is OK, but could be upgraded to something with better power delivery.

Excuse me, can your GTX 1660 Super even push anything close to 240fps? Or, you're gonna upgrade your GPU sometime in the future?

There is no difference between 120 Hz and 240 Hz since it is too fast for people to noticed any difference.

That's not true. People can tell the difference.

I will agree that people's ability to perceive a difference between such refresh rates will vary, but people can tell a difference.

You can notice the difference with 120hz to 240hz if you have a powerful gpu.
It's like 60hz to 144hz.
Anything past 240hz is more of a trick cause I seen some higher hz monitors and depends on many factors you will not notice it.
I seen many hz from 60hz to 500hz.

It is about 4 ms difference, so it is not easy to noticed any difference. I said this as my experience where there is 4 ms and 8 ms on my work test equipment.
