Did you go 240hz back when the 1080ti and 6700k could do it, or did you buy the screen without the hardware to push it yet with intention of using it fully one day?

Solid build outside that specific questionable spec ;)

I purchased this monitor for $50! i could not pass it up. Before this i had a 120hz Predator i believe it was.
oh, wow, yeh. For 50 bucks its a hard buy so long as it works and isnt gouged haha. Wouldnt even need a stand to be a good buy at that price.

Why have you posted my specs?
You know those anti-piracy commercials? You wouldn't download someone else's PC, would you? This person just tried to download yours, haha.

While I'm posting, instead of a computer of mine to list, I have a mention of the opposite. My laptop is no longer mine.

Dell Inspiron 3537 with a Core i3 4010U, Intel HD4400, 16 GB DDR3 1,600 MHz (9-9-9), and Crucial MX100 128 GB SSD.

I gave it to a family member (no cost), because I barely use it, and they were discussing looking for/buying one. It's old, but in great shape, and I felt it'd save them a couple hundred (we were looking at some cheaper ones and I was shocked to find they still offer things with 4 GB, like... why?), and it'll do what they need it to do. I did let them know about the whole Windows 11 not supporting the CPU thing so it's somewhat on borrowed time if they want to stick to a supported version of Windows, and that Windows 10 will give it another three and a half years, but it still saves them in the meantime.

Probably within a year, after I get a laundry list of more important things done, I'll look for a new laptop. Honestly, it was fine for me, the TN screen and CPU aside (modern Minecraft is punishing to it) but I didn't need it enough to hold onto it until I actually get the replacement.

So my desktop and HTPC is what I'm down to.

speaking of dell inspirons...

the last laptop i was using was a...

dell inspiron 15r se (se = special edition)
win 7 64bit
i7 3612QM quadcore 3.1ghz
8GB ram (upgraded to 16GB)
intel hd 4000/amd radeon hd 7730m 2GB vram
750GB 7200rpm hdd

also upgraded the daughter board to one with a msata slot and wifi (original only had wifi), and had a 120GB msata ssd from kingston, then later added a 250GB msata ssd from samsung, msata was for the os and and hdd was for games (tho some games did make it onto the ssd for performance reasons).

shortly after i finished building my gaming desktop, which is posted in this thread (page 101), my laptop died to a short in the 5V circuit (i believe) as i was charging my phone on the laptop and when the phone started charging the laptop turned off and never turned back on after that, that was about 5 years ago.

anywho, im still planning on sorting out where the short is on the motherboard, so i can fix it and maybe either use it again or sell it, either way i got a full 8 or more years out of it (before it died) and it was only about $1000 bucks, plus a few hundred for the upgrades i did when i was using it.

currently am using the 250GB msata from the laptop as a paging file drive (the rest of the drives have paging file disabled) for my gaming desktop, simply put it in a msata to 3.5in drive enclosure, so i could install it into my gaming desktop.

also have 3 other older working laptops, 1 is a HP dv6000 (dont remember the specs) and 2 currently unknown toshiba laptops (dont remember the models or specs) one has a broken screen and the other has no shell/case, these ones basically go unused and i think have backtrack/kali linux installed on them, among other OS's that i used to mess around with on occasion, got these for free as well, cause the owners where throwing them away because of bluescreens, so i fixed them.... i used to snag free broken computers and/or laptops, fix and sell them, that was maybe 15 years ago.

Did you ever have issues with a weakening WiFi connectivity with it? I know they were different models so I may as well be asking in general and not because they were both the same brand, but I wonder if they are close enough to where Dell may have used a similar/same WiFi adapter. I ask because that was the only issue I ever had with that laptop. It got to the point to where it basically has to be within single digit feet/few meters or it wouldn't hold a signal, but it had no issue detecting one from much further away. A cheap USB WiFi adapter has it connecting fine again.

Also, correction to a typo in my last post, the 4010U is a Core i3 not a Core i5.

no, the wifi worked pretty well, heck that thing could see routers about a block away from it, tho if at all possible i would use ethernet instead of wifi, because back then those wifi adapters were much slower than a gigabit ethernet connection.

It's nothing special but just logging it here so i can use it for future reference while i have nothing else to do and my games are downloading again on this PC. :taloslol:

Nice! I take it that the Phemom II x6 @ 3.2Ghz is the 1090T?

I have an 1100T. Really great processor back in the day. IMO it was better than the 8 core FX 8150 when that came out. Bulldozer was trash, IMHO. And the Phenom II and Athlon II lines were the last great SKUs that AMD released until Ryzen.

Also, my 1100T was originally paired with a GTX 570, Kingston Hyper X ram, a Seagate Barrucada HDD, all inside a Cooler Master HAF 912. So very similar to what you are rocking.
