Like your set up. 8700k. I have one, too. Ever clock this cpu? Can't seem to get past 4.2 without crashing so I just leave it alone. Some people say it's the silicone lottery so I'm h0sed. If it is, I'd want to move up to 9700k so I won't have to change my board. How are your clock speeds?
RAM : 12GB DDR4 Samsung 2400 MHz.
VGA / GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB.
Storage : HDD 1TB 5400 RPM.
No this has nothing to do with silcon lottery.
I7-8700k has a 4.3ghz allcore turbo boost by default. And singlecore 4.7ghz turbo. Even very low silicon lottery 8700k can do 4.7ghz allcore. Silicon lottery says 100% of all tested 8700k can do 4.6ghz allcore and 99% can do 4.7ghz allcore. Crash on 4.2ghz means something is broken.

Please note that everything except storage drives and peripherals was bought second hand.
This computer is fruit of almost a year of looking for the perfect deals on local auction sites.
Very happy since without counting peripherals I paid less than 1300.00 US, considering I would not have been able to pay up this much all at once I am very grateful.

Waiting on a HP 6 pin to 24 pin ATX power adaptor from Aliexpress and will then shift everything to an ATX case I have spare. Will also water cool the CPU as I also have everything spare for the job except for coolant.

This has been a nightmare. Have to RMA the GPU since I am having severe auto reboots and refreshes. Ironically the GPU works fine with my older CPU prior to the upgrade. Might even upgrade the mobo. Update: Getting a new mobo!

I gamed on my Alienware m17x for almost 9 years before giving it to my buddy and it recently kicking the bucket for good this year. Man I had to catch up on desktop tech alot the first time I built it. Atleast you don't have to worry about individual parts Fing up during upgrade like me. Enjoy your piece of mind. I hope to be getting some hopefully by tomorrow.
🤠
Def DDR3, as no DDR2 can be used with an iX chip, and nothing newer thats i5 non-mobile runs at that low of a speed.
Likely intengrated or some type of common GPU for such a system ie, 1030-1060 or rx460-580.
