Why you upgraded from 2700x to 3900x? Ryzen 7 can run evrything at max settigns 60+ fps. Upgrading graphics card is the only thing we need for now not cpu. That why when i upgrade graphics card iwill keep the cpu even if the graphics card is 100% more powerful than RTX 2080 TI.

Did you not read? I upgraded because I said I wanted to, and even said that there was no point.
But then this mean that you paid money and bought something that you know you dont realy need. We must upgrade our pcs only when we need and want to not without reason. I upgrade onyl when it stops running the games at max settings. Or when it breaks down.

With such... serious discussions it seems like this thread could use something a little bit more... fun. So here we go, my latest computer setup:
MB: ECS K7VTA3 V 8.0 / VIA KT333CF
CPU: AMD AthlonXP 2200+ Thoroughbred 1800Mhz (133*13.5)[valid.x86.fr]
RAM: 1024MB (2*512MB) DDR-400
GPU: Sparkle GeForce FX5900XT 128MB DDR[www.techpowerup.com]
HDD: ST380215A IDE 80GB
PSU: Some unlabeled 300W PSU from early 2000-s

Spent forever resoldering every freaking capacitor in whole thing including PSU and now it runs. And still can run all the games from those time...
Was a long and fun project to get it running with all the original parts and was totally worth the time. This was the PC I've had most fun with from all of them. Mostly because i still had plenty of time to waste and already knew enough to fiddle with overclocking, modding etc,etc... Played with sub-ambient cooling on this one too...

That is an opinion that I don't have to abide by. Upgrade every 5 years all you want, but I won't.

What? no i dont upgrade each 5 years why do you thimk that? i ugprade only when games stop running at max settings. My previous upgeade was in 2017 before that in 2016 then 2014 2011 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004... You see i upgrade when it is necessary.

No, it won't make a meaningful difference, within 2 FPS at best. There are benchmarks everywhere that prove that.
You literally could have just overclocked your 1333 MHz RAM and got the same result. DDR3 overclocks very well.

Doubtful, highly unlikely. Negligible improvements at best. Not only that but since it's a RAM upgrade you should be able to test it easily yourself and do some by some comparisons. Just a simple POST and boot to windows should be a first test. Maybe try and load a few games while you test each configuration.

BUT LOAD TIMES DEPEND ON MORE THAN JUST RAM.

E.g. a crap CPU is not going to benefit from the extra 40% RAM speed. It wont affect disc read, again any gains would be negligible. It might feel a little punchier the first few times you use it but you'll get used to the speed very quickly and then wont notice anything different.

Not that fussed, it's fine at 1080 anyway tbh. Not a bazillion fps that some people say is needed, but it's ok for me.

owners buy their pc's whatever they want they want more performance? fine then buy a new cpu or gpu or something, your ram's frequency is too low then buy a higher frequency ram it all depends on the owner so stop criticizing their purchases

Surely this thread is a discussion about your PC, so if you cannot take any critique then don't bother posting your specs and /unsubscribe. simple

Irony posting.

This thread it to help people look for specs and not to battle. Don't forget that there are new people to pc so this thread would be good for them to look.

Actually, never looked at the thread that way. Never thought it could be looked at as a buyers guide.
