Bit of a outdated hardcore gaming rig back in the 2005s with a upgrade of a 2GB Graphics Card that supports all lastest techonogly such as DirectX 11 and Cuda and stuff, plays just like ironbender said about his.

Also external hard drive is

Western Digital MY PASSPORT 2TB 3.0

for storing some stuff although im using my 32GB HP usb to store stuff on (hp v123w) and 2GB PNY 2.0 USB for pictures

Nothing special just a Toshiba Satellite running Ubuntu 12.10
1.8gb ram
over 300gb storage
Everything else is just standard Toshiba Sats.

I don't understand most gamers here, I do get that high ram is a must but to have every bit of hardware at their peak? seems uneeded and all but I would like to know what pushes die-hard gamers to spend so much on their battlestations.

it also gets things done in windows much faster
dont have to upgrade as often depending on if you are a HC gamer,Just A gamer or a windows user sometime gamer
i built my 8 core because i had the money at the time.under 6 bills and i can play just about anything or do just about anything

certain components you do need to spen as much as you can afford to Ram,HD Space, vid card
not so much the processor most core duo 3G or amd quad core can run anything if the other components are good

Haha, mines not even a desktop. Well here you are;

OS: Windows 8, 64-bit
Processor: AMD A8-4500M APU with HD Graphics 1.90GHz
RAM: 8.00GB
HD: 1TB [Along with two EHD's, 1TB and 500GB]

...Not sure on anything else really. This is straight from the shop, so nothing's been customized or changed. It's a good laptop for the stuff I want to run - not a hard-core gamer and I only have a few games. Laptop does pretty well with running them, it's never frozen or had performance problems.
