Wikipedia is not a main source but a reference work, which means it is always wrong until proven otherwise. It is known to mislead many people from bad articles. Even my college English teacher warned me to be careful with Wikipedia.

That's not that old of a laptop really. I have a slightly older laptop with 6700HQ and a 1060 6GB.

also recently one weekend a while ago bored i built up and old system with my old 4770k and a GTX 970, Seagate 600 series 480GB ssd with an old OCZ 500W psu in my also very old Coolermaster Elite 335 case.

You should've sold your gtx 970 during the shortage . I got $150 for mine about two years ago and the funny thing is about a year prior to that nobody even wanted it when I asked for $60 for it lol.
Maybe I should've saved my old i7 4790K and see how much it would bottleneck modern high end gpus.

I have had IT skills since I was a baby, my 1st computer was a Tandy TRS80, I was born with a cigarette in my mouth. (I detest all these anti-smoking laws in my country, United Kingdom) I was programming BASIC as a toddler. I have always been a gamer too. I have always been an IT Technician since Microsoft Windows 95 and know my way around Microsoft Windows 95, Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows XP, Windows XP Media Centre Edition, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Home Server, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2022. To be fair I am a Microsoft Junkie, Xbox all the way, for the way! Gaming wise I first played on TRS80, Atari 2600, Nintendo Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo GameBoy, Commodore Amiga 1200, Sony Playstation, Sony Playstation 2, Xbox One and my favourite, PC. On PC my favourites were Microsoft Games for Windows LIVE and Steam but now there's Epic Gaming, EA Origin, Ubisoft Connect and the successor to GFWL, Xbox LIVE for PC. In regards to my Server, I hope to set up a Dedicated Server for games on Steam, my first project will be Counter Strike 2. why a RTX 3050?
I hope you didn't buy that for newer games and ray tracing.
Only issue I see is the gpu.
But if the things I listed is not what you are going for then it's a ok gpu.
