Drivers are still going to be screwed. Radeon's software division is still pretty poor, and until that stops, NVIDIA can basically advertise that their drivers aren't completely broken on launch.

Nice oc... But 1200w and no SSD?...
way too much on 1200W for sure.

And getting 3090 without upgrading that CPU to something that supports PCIE 4.0 as well as no SSD is termination for a gamer.
Kurumi : Thank you for your feedback. Because of your input and some of the other people here I have decided to go with a top of the line AMD system and that includes SSD and the 3090 card. I'll be putting my new system together around April or May of next year.

What does PCI-e version have to do with anything lmao?

for raw graphics power. Very little.

His system is OK'ish, at 5.0Ghz he compares to a 4.6Ghz all core 7700K, but without an SSD he is held back hard...

Now in 1.5 to 3 years, then the PCIe version might matter. NV for example will be rolling out a feature allowing direct sotrage access to the GPU via DX12. That alone will add to the PCIe overhead, especially if it is in play *while* rendering and *while* the system is hitting the NVMe as well for mainline tasks. Thats asking alot out of the PCIe bus at that point, and the 4.0 speed will probably matter. But by then both Intel and AMD will have it on their mainline platforms.

you would gain a little more performance if you upscale from 1440p to 4k.
In nvidia control panel and called DSR-factor @4.00 and DSR-Smoothness to 0.
Your welcome.
What.....
That's not upscaling, that's downscaling, and it would reduce performance, not increase it.
2160p is harder to drive than 1440p, so I don't understand why you think that.

Also a factor of 4 on a 1440p display would be 2880p, not 2160p.
