Once I got my processor, my beloved Coressa shall partially rise from the ashes:
  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600
  • Nvidia Geforce GTX 460
  • 16 GB (8*2) kit of Patriot Viper Steel DDR4 RAM rated at 3200MHz
  • Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro WiFi ATX
  • Corsair RM650
  • Kingston NV1 M.2 SSD rated at 500GB
  • Inplay Meteor 01 ATX Case
  • Inplay Aurora case fans *5
  • Some generic AIO water CPU cooler
And before you roast me for my choice of GPU, that's just a placeholder GPU right there; the actual GPU that is to be installed here would be different; that GPU is only to be used as a display adapter to make sure that all parts are working. :cozycrashfish:

Meh, As a person that ran years ago for a while a Gigabyte GT 440 on Crysis 2 with like 30 FPS on default settings, The GTX 460 for sure is really outdated but it´s more than enough as a display adapter and good enough for more basic games like CS:GO, TF2 etc.. as long as you are not going for max settings.

I was heading for either a RTX 2070 Super or a RTX 3060, of which both of them are out of my reach price-wise, but I think I can afford one around November or so, alongside a new monitor that can take advantage of the new hardware. :cozycrashfish:

Both of them are still very good cards but 1080p 144 FPS might be a stretch especially on newer triple A games if that´s what you are looking for. Older games that are not heavy graphically should be a walk in the park with that R5 3600 and 2070S/3060.
1440p/144hz Monitors/preset is insanely hard to drive, even at older games.

I haven't even been well-exposed to high refresh rate monitors at 1080p, yet alone 1440p, so yeah, I'll get myself a 1080p rated at 144Hz with maybe 1-4 ms response time, since I have some FPS games that will benefit from that. :cozycrashfish:

I am at the moment satisified with 1080p at 60hz and not looking to up my preset. Gave 1080p 144hz a consideration but i have other priorities when it comes to upgrading my setup.

Suit yourself; as for me, I want to cut my eyes with the sharpness of the monitor that has that kind of refresh rate. :cozycrashfish:
