if you want pure gaming and less multitasking I would go with Intel.

Motherboard Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 $134
Memory 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 Low Profile 1.5v $42
GPU HIS 7850 IceQ X 2GB $200
Case Antec One $45
Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM $70
Optical Drive OEM DVD Drive or OEM Blu Ray Drive $23
PSU Antec EarthWatts EA-650 Green $70
OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit $92
Total Pricing via Amazon, so no tax or shipping for most USA Residents $796
this is cool if you want play many games
Motherboard is little cheap and not good for overclocking and CPU runs on stock cooler.
This is pretty weak and for $800 you can do better.
It means it uses the CPU cooler that comes in the box with CPU, not very powerful but when you dont overclock it will work ok.
And yes it should work fine even without overclocking in most games.
Lol, sorry I totally missed that line. Yeah this is fine.
Motherboard is kinda cheap for rig like this, Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 would be better.
Triple-channel memory is not used much anymore. Most people go for dual-channel kits 2x4 Gb, 2x8 Gb. 1866 Mhz CL 9, 1.5V RAM would better.
Rest is quite good and no problems there.
You can read quite a lot of reviews about it here:

If you get it running without it being dead on arrival you should be ok if you dont overclock.
No. Good, but hardly top grade.
No. The majority of games, but not all of them.
It's not the third best in the world. It's not even the third best from Nvidia.
The 2GB of VRAM is a little light. There's at least a few games out there capable of using more than that. I've seen >3GB of VRAM usage.

I personally use a AMD FX 8 core + HD 6950, built over 1 & 1/2 years ago. I like and enjoy it and I feel that I do benefit a lot from the extra cores. However I also do have a AMD A4-5300 APU and I can play many of my games on that as well at some level or another. A AMD Athlon x4 740 + HD 7790 or better can play pretty much anything. So it depends how much you want to spend and what you can afford. I spend pretty much all day every day at my computer so to me it is a big deal to have top quality.
