Direct X 11
Hello, I've been experiencing some problems with steam games -- the problems are irrelevant. I'm wondering if someone can tell me where to download Direct X 11 to use with Deux Ex:HR?
I have Windows 7...Is it even compatible?

I'm also assuming that dx11 is legal and free. Surprisingly google wasn't a huge help to me.

Thanks!

the steam redist folder has DX in it just run the setup it should fix the problem.also most newer games have a folder with the install for DX
win 7 runs on DX 11 down but not all games do some will only run on DX 11 and not older Versions
you could try windows compatability mode for the game.

Deus Ex: HR does not require DirectX 11, it adds some some eye candy, but it's not necessary. It'll work fine in good ole' DirectX 9.

Windows 7 ships with DirectX 11 built in, you don't need to download it. Some games require a specific DirectX build. If the game requires a specific build, it will be included in the "redist" folder in the game's directory- and will install automatically when you install the game on Steam.

The big question here is, what GPU are you using? While Windows 7 may indeed support DirectX 11, if your GPU does not support DirectX 11 it will not run. If your GPU does not support DirectX 11, simply run the game in traditional DirectX 9 mode.

Edited for grammar

,,,Windows 7 has direct x11 already in its system ,,,check that your compatibility windows option and make sure that its not set to xp ,,,turn the xp option off and in the dropdown tab select your system os instead ,,save and reboot ,,if its set to windows xp steam thinks you want to run in xp or lower and you get issues such as blank screen or other ,,,:)

Then why isn't it giving me the option to click/enable 'Direct X 11' in the Deux Ex:HR set up?

possibly check the forums for the actual Developer they might be of more help with the game.
from what you keep saying it has to be the game not the windows DirectX API
