Radeon HD 7870 2GB

or

GeForce GTX 660 Ti OC 2GB (or the regular 660 without the Ti which is cheaper)

A 600w with two PCI-E cables would be enough for these cards.

with the 300w psu, the best you can do is a 7750

if you get a quality 600w psu, any gpu will work

whats your budget for a psu and gpu?

Yeah, that power supply needs to be upgraded. Not that familiar with uATX. You're somewhat limited between what you have 7450 and the 7950. red94 offers a good bet. You don't say how much ram you have.

330 CDN

I was planning to upgrade my psu, and i have 8 gb of ram

for $300cad you can do a 7950 and a good psu
but first measure the case and see what the max length for a gpu can fit in it

if you can fit a 11.5in card

Hey OP, I got a shopping list for you and guess what? On your $330 CDN budget you not only can afford a HD 7950, you can get a HD 7970 and pay your shipping, taxes and have $ spare. This assumes that you actually have slightly more cash available but are budgeting it for something else or for saving and are willing to fill out and then wait on some Mail-in Rebates.

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1J8Qa
Base Total: $349.98
Mail-in Rebates: -$50.00
Total: $299.98 + tax and unlisted shipping = less than $330 I'd asume.

Just make sure to get your $50 worth of Mail-in Rebates by sending off the forms within 30 days. Then they will give you cheque or prepaid credit card within about 3 months or less.

If you can't wat for Mail-in Rebates and or or don't have the extra $20 upfront then you can still get the HD 7950. This is within your budget upfront and the rebates make nice savings:

Base Total: $299.98
Mail-in Rebates: -$45.00
Total: $254.98

Oh thats cool, but before i do anything, i am currently using windows 8, and i heard if i upgrade my computer i will need to re enter my windows code. Where can i find it? I went to the properties of my computer, i saw my product id, is that it?
Joker 30/set./2013 às 15:48
Your tower/case might have a sticker on the side or back with a Windows product key.
AJ 30/set./2013 às 15:57
It does have a sticker
serial number and product number, is the product number your referring to?
Joker 30/set./2013 às 16:15
No that's the computer product number. One sticker is the computer's product number and another sticker is the Windows product key. This is how my PC is anyway. Your PC probably came with papers/books etc. Look for the Windows one if you don't see a sticker on your case.

You can also find your Windows key in your registry. Google how to do it for your version of Windows.

for swapping a gpu and psu you will not need to reinstall windows
and thats not enough hardware change for windows to need to be re-validated
Joker 30/set./2013 às 16:30
^that's true

He should still know how to find his key incase he ever needed it.
