graphics card wont update

my graphics driver needs a update its a radeon 6770m so when i go to the radeon site to udate i download a auto detect but when it downloads it says its incompatable/incapable and thats it i can run any game fine such as bioshock infinite on ultra graphics with 50 frames plus but i was trying to play soldier front 2 with my friend and the display driver would stop responding and the game would freeze constandly when i go to turn but i was running at 60 frames
i tried going to the hp site said my computer didnt exist the nearest thing to my laptop was a hp pavlion dv6 entertainment pc

my specs are
windows 7
8 gbs of ram
intel i7 2720QM cpu 2.20 ghz 4 cores
its a HP pavlion dv6 notebook pc
any help is much appreciated due to i cant find anyway to fix it and eventually my pc will not be able to do anything

i downloaded this before to be able to swap to better graphics and one time i tried to open it and it said that the is no amd software to install so i went to device manager and checked the to display drivers for a update and it said they were up to date so i tired to uninstall catalyst and i wouldnt let me

well i used that uninstall half way though my pc crashed, windows wouldnt start had to use windows start up repair had to use recovery then steam said password was wrong and had to go though all that ♥♥♥♥ lol
