someone built my gaming pc, WAY too expensive. Need some advice!
If you know how to read titels, than you already know the gaming pc that was reccomended to me is far too expensive. About 1434 dollars. I'm not looking for running gta 5 or bf4, I want to play pretty outdated games like L.A Noir, red faction series, just cause 2, witcher 2, maybe even skyrim.

here are the parts, please tell me which parts are an overkill or just too expensive for what they should do.

Intel Core i5 4670 3.4Ghz (3.8Ghz Turbo) LGA1150 BOX - 313 dollars

Gigabyte GA-P85-D3 for 1150 - 132 dollars

Raidmax Augusta Bottom design PS, USB 3.0, Fan Speed & light controllers, 120X4 Front+Top(2)+Back Ptional side fan Black - 144 dollars

Seasonic M12II-620 620W Active PFC Modular 80+ Bronze - 126 dollars

Crucial 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz 1.5V CL11 - 83 dollars

Gigabyte Geforce GTX760 Windforce X3 2GB RETAIL - 374 dollars

Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB SATA3 - 93 dollars

Samsung 120GB 2.5" SSD 840 Series - 138 dollars

DVDRW LITE-ON x24 - 27.73 dollars

sorry for not saying which part does what ill comment it if thats a problem. I do not live in the US nor the UK so online shopping is more expensive due to delivery cost. keep in mind that that is the cost without the damn screen!

I saw a couple of people building good gaming pc's for about 600$ I need advice, Thanks alot for reading and helping!

do you want to stay with intel??
AMD is much more cost friendly
Video card is overkill a cheeper Alt would be a 500 or 600 series.

the build looks good, but can be trimmed down some

$132usd for a case is alot, see if you can find a cheaper case for around $50usd

look for a better ram kit, 1600 cl11 is slower than 1333 cl9 kit
to compare ram speed / cl = value (higher = better)

psu is awesome, but you can go cheaper if you need
xfx550-750w has been farily cheap and is still made by seasonic

ssd isnt necessary but will speed up windows and games installed on it
120g ssd should be under $100usd

where do you live, or what sites/stores are you able to get parts from?

Are you in Australia?
i live in israel. And I thought of buying the pc parts from the same guy who built it. ill take note of what you said but that barely solves my problem. I was pretty sure that the games i offered dont require a pc that costs over 1000$.

if you just want to play those games, look for a ps3 or 360
graphics will be dumbed down some compared to pc vers but still play good for much less
Rove 2013年9月18日 11時54分
Well you are not going to find most of these exact same parts in Israel and even if you do there may be better deals on others since prices change locally. Here is a example of what you need though:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Rove/saved/2766
Base Total: $565.29
Mail-in Rebates: -$40.00
Shipping: $7.99
Total: $533.28

Something like this could do it better than console, though you might want to get a better 80 Plus bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum certified PSU because it will end up saving you $ on electricity.

Base Total: $368.44
Combo Discounts: -$20.00
Mail-in Rebates: -$5.00
Shipping: $4.99
Total: $348.43

the games cost too much (i already have over 80 games including some i could not run), none of my friends play on consoles and i need a computer regardless since my laptop died. I guess I'll have to pay the price if i have no choice. Thanks for the offer though.

damn rove you are a hero!

find a 2x4g ram kit instead of a single dimm
yes the speed is twice what ddr2 800 is, but the timings are still alot higher than ddr2

if you cant find a haswell build that cheap, do an ivy i3 instead, better upgrade options and as good as the 6300 in games

the 7790 is a joke compared to the gtx760
even 2x 7790 in crossfire is still slower than the gtx760

see what parts you can find over there for cheap
haswell i3s are out too, and are cheap here around $130
and you can get a lower b85 board

if your getting it built in the us, aim for something like this

thanks! I'll send it to the guy and compare his price to the ones you guys sent
Actually the guy who recommended you this build didnt try to swindle you or anything. It's solid medium range PC build. Case could have been cheaper but other then that it's ok.
Higher $ prices compared to US are because of your location.
This PC would cost about $1000 in US.
What posters above dont take into account is that PC parts outside US cost lot more.

Tell him to go with cheaper case like Cooler Master K-280 and let him take out the SSD, that would shave around $200 off the cost.
