Porblems with Nvidia Surround
Hello,
I have recently purchased three Acer H226HQL monitors. I am running a nvidia gtx 660 ti with two of the monitors connected by DVI and the third using HDMI. On the setup multiple displays tab I check all of the boxes next to the monitors. I then click configure surround, Physx. Under this tab I check the box "Span displays with surround". I then click configure and the window showing they are recognized and where to plug them in pops up. I click apply and it turns off two of my monitors. It does not even display the screen afterwards asking how I want them setup. I have tried to change resolutions also but all it ever shows is 1920x1080.
On a side note, would a single 660 ti be able to run upcoming games on high fps on three screens? Or should I buy another 660ti/ upgrade to a newer model?

A 660 ti wont really be able to game on 3 screens. but for single screens it should work great, if you really want 3 screens then go ahead and get two 660 ti's in sli, since youll have to buy a 770 or 780 to match that for way more.
As for surround, download latest drivers , or the beta drivers, and if theres no improvement, we could figure out any other problems

Okay can you try dual moniters see if that works. Also have you had any prblems with the gpu so far?

All of the monitors have picture if I don't try to configure surround. The gpu is treating them each as their own separate screen. I can not get anything to expand across them. No other problems up until now. For a while I ran only two monitors; having a game on one while having the other for accessory.

I think you are deffently going to have to upgrade the the graphics card or SLI it there is not enuffe video memory in one 660 Ti to run those 3 monitors. I woud go with 4GB GTX770 or 780 or even have look at AMD. If you are going SLI what is power supply ?

It should run up to 4 screen just fine in Windows, but 3 screens in games? No, while it can do it, the GPU is not strong enough to provide enough GPU power to have a high enough FPS @ 1080p x 3 screens.

And if u have to lower your res, then do not bother because everything will be blurring and the experience overall will not be good.

3 screen Surround gaming should really only be done on NVIDIA x70 or higher models.

like 670, 680, 690, TITAN
Or the same within the 700 series of GPUs.

If the GPU is new, I would return and look towards getting GTX 770 4GB
Then it will run 4 screens (one for your Desktop) all day @ 1080p on each screen and not break a sweat.

I have had this gpu for a little while now so I can not return it. Which would be able to run surround more efficiently for upcoming games, two 660ti, or a single 770?

two 660 ti
SneekyFish 29/ago./2013 às 14:05
And is my gpu not being strong enough the sole reason I can not get a game to play across three screens right now?

Yes exactly, one 660ti will not run 3 screens while gaming
2 will run well enough, but you wont be maxing out games. How much ram is on your 660 ti

Trevor 29/ago./2013 às 14:32
2 GB of ram is on 660 TI

You can do it but you will have to sli it like I sead.

Could you explain that a little more? I appreciate all the help just trying to figure out why my single 660ti can not run surround screens like other people can.
