You can't change it. Just like what your GPU ultimately supports for DirectX/OpenGL.
Only want to change it is upgrade to a newer/higher spec GPU.
You currently have a very old Onboard Intel GPU. You need a dedicated AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GeForce Video Card.
You have onboard Intel GPU, that means no gaming for you.
i have come across that before but that was yrs back
Start saving for a desktop instead. Less of a headache for you to be honest.
20yrs and never ever a bricked system/card/drive .....Reading Is fundamental you can learn a lot from reading the instructions exactly as writen dont trust a third party update or some kid that tells you that this modded bios or whatever will work fine.if the company has a video bios update
use it 99.99999999999999999% plus many more 9s that you would ever have a Problem with the update unless you cant read or understand the instructions.the forums for the manufacturer could help with some questions better than here.i am not saying anyone here does not know what they are talking about because a lot of them do.but going to the manufactures web site forums would prob have some better answers for you if you have been there yet i do not know.
good luck on your endevers
U'r funny. U still have to update BIOS on desktop boards.
Good lord someone get this guy a hint.
I do this for a living, updated tens of thousands of products' bios over the years, out of all that, MAYBE bricked as many as I can count on one hand. If u do it right, it should not mess up. If u'r scared, let a Tech/Pro do it.
Because your GPU is an old style Intel theres really nothing you can do.

In any event, it's hardware based, so if the game doesn't recognize it as being Shader Model 4, it probably doesn't meet that requirement.
When it just says Video Card w/ Shader Model x.x and DirectX 9/10/11
They mean AMD Radeon or NVIDIA. 99% of DX/OGL games can't run well, or at all on most Intel GPUs. Especially ones made before the Intel HD 2500/3000 that are onboard Sandy Bridge 2nd Gen Intel CPUs.
So even with the right Shader u most likley still can't play the game.
Again not trying to give anyone a hard time. But overall if u don't have AMD or NVIDIA GPU, u are wasting your time trying to run DX/OGL games.
Hhmmm...that strikes me as odd. It says the integrated graphics card supports DirectX 10, but only Shader Model 2.0. DirectX 10 added Shader Model 4.0, so it seems weird to me that it can be claimed to support DirectX 10, but not Shader Model 4.0. If it only supports Shader Model 2.0 then that, to me, would mean it doesn't truly support DirectX 10.
On the other hand, you're right. Shader Model is hardware based. The only software for it is DirectX itself, which should be up-to-date, and since games almost always install the version of DirectX they need, the OP should be up-to-date. If the game says the card doesn't support Shader Model 4.0, then I'm inclined to agree with it.
both are already Shader Model 4.0 / DX10 / OGL 2.0 by default.
As that is all determined by the Intel G41 Express Chipset.
