Remember that USA prices don't include VAT (which is going to be added to price). Also if you are ordering aboard you should remember customs fees.
You can get custom built (more balanced PC) 30-40% cheaper.
For $1800 you can get a killer desktop tower + Windows 8 64bit + monitor + speakers + keyboard + mouse. It'll be far better than any laptop you could buy for the price.
Even if you do want laptop there are definetly a lot of other brands to consider. ASUS, MSI, Cyberpower, iBuypower and many more manufacturers all make gaming laptops.
Alienware is no where close to those. Alienware is nothing special anymore, it's just Dell.
If you can afford something above $1200 for laptop, DO NOT even consider your off the shelf OEM brands. They are rip offs.
You can get a very well loaded ASUS ROG 17" w/ GTX 770M for around $1499

Well they were one of the first PC laptops to feature backlit keyboards is all. Which with any good gaming laptop, this is standard now.
ordering across countrys is asking for trouble
if anything is lost during shipping or needs to be rma'd it will be a nightmare
au prices are expensive vs us prices for hardware, but the usd is stronger than the aud

there are plenty stores in au, if you can assemble it yourself, you can build a good machine for around $1600aud
start with something like this

I didn't mean the backlit keyboards. Just look the pictures. There are colored leds everywhere. For ex. whole computer is encircled with led string.
A 765M will barely cut it for High/Ultra gaming @ 1080p
Alienware also has software designed to config the lighting any way you want, in any color combo u want. U can also pick and choose what all to turn off to. Overall it's not a big deal, cause all that lighting can be turned off.
