Rate my <£600 gaming build
Hi, this will be my first self build gaming pc, so would love feedback

GPU: Asus GeForce GTX660 TI 2GB
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/cart/view.html/ref=ox_page_ac_2?ie=UTF8&dc=df&page=1&type=active

MOBO: Asus M5A97

RAM: 8GB G-Skill (2X4GB 1600Mhz)

HDD: WD Black 1TB (7200 RPM)

CPU COOLER: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0068OI7T8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

PSU: OCZ 550W
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005DJJTFA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

CASE:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00606NBJ0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

I'm considering overclocking the CPU to prevent it from holding GPU back, from reading online seems most people can safely get 4.4Ghz so wouldn't push any further than that

Also I will be using a Benq 24" 1080p (2ms) monitor and running Win 7 64bit which brings total up to ~£750

But yea, please offer any improvements or suggestions, many thanks :)

This looks like a good build. I have a few suggestions:

AMD FX 8320 + HD 7950
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Rove/saved/2fY2
Total: £596.52 + unlisted shipping

or

AMD FX 6300 + HD 7950
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Rove/saved/20oQ
Total: £532.02 + unlisted shipping

I think you have a option here from my suggestions that is better at the same budget and one that is cheaper and a little bit better still also.

If you wanta Nvidia GPU you could always pop one into either build for about the same price.

Substitute GPU for HD 7950, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 at 190~ GBP

Substitute GPU for HD 7950, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 ti at 165~ GBP

Do note however that the HD 7950 comes with 3 free games that you are allowed to choose from a bunch of different and normally expensive titles. I also believe it's a better card.

Why would you put a custom cooler on a low TDP chip that is locked and can't overclock?

The i5-3350p is only 69w TDP and the stock cooler is more than fine for it for several years until the fan breaks or something. You can't overclock it, you don't need more.

why not, 212+/evo is very quiet and fairly cheap
and much easier to install when building the pc than after its already assembled

I just don't see the need. You could buy a nicer CPU for the money you would save not buying it. Like this instead with the i5-3570 for about the same price:

Build with better CPU and stock cooler.

the stcok cooler can be noisy, tx3 or t4 are cheaper optons and work good too for a sub 100w cpu
