Can this run games? GT 740m

So a friend of mine asked me if this laptop will be good for playing games at good settings and what not. So assuming it will play majority of the games at its native resolution on good settings with a stable framerate. GT 740m

it can play games, but dont expect mid-higher settings

most i5 notebooks are dual cores
look for an i7 with x50m or higher video card to play at mid and higher games settings

if you need it with a 17" screen

cpu is better, quad vs dual, and has lower idle speed, same turbo speed
ram 8g vs 12, but will be dual channel mode, mixed kits run in single ch mode
