What is most important, keyboard, mouse, or headset?
So here is my dilemma, I am building a custom gaming/workstation computer and need the basic peripherals. I "have" a keyboard, mouse, and headset, but I also recently received a gift on $100. Should I use that $100 on a keyboard, mouse, or headset?

Here is what I plan on using the computer for.
1) Video editing - I am a videographer and I like to make things for personal use, youtube, and friends and will have either Final Cut or Adobe CS6 or something of the like.

2) Gaming (dua) - Games I plan on playing are BF4, 7DTD, Minecraft, AC4, Fallout, GTA 5 (when it gets ported), Skyrim, League of Legends, CSS, and the like. I will also be recording the gameplay with Fraps.
I will probably be playing several of these games with friends via Skype or Goodle Hangout so comms are important.

Right now I have Walmart cheap for all three of these items and for those who have already forgot, I am asking how I should spend this $100. Should I buy one item, or split it up between all 3? Or should I save up and get epic versions of everything?

I know you have plenty of opinions so send them my way and we'll see what happens. I have no brand loyalties whatsoever so anything you suggest is fair game.
Let the discussion commence.

all

having a cheap keyboard/mouse can make it difficult to use the pc
if its for media editing, a good headset/speakers will make your audio sound better

there are some good mouse/keyboard kits for around $100
or a mech keboard for around $100 if your mouse and headset are acceptable

A headset would be important for clear voice audio for your recording.
Basic coms can be achieved with any mic however so I would say get the headset last.

If I may make a suggestion for the program used for your ingame coms, I would suggest looking into Teamspeak 3. Its a lot less demanding on preformence compaired to skype and google which is crucial for lag reduction.

Soo keyboard and mouse. The mouse is what I would advise upgrading first. It is highly important in gaming to have fast turning and shooting.

The keyboard would come second. While it is important, any keyboard will work just fine as long as it works. Until I got my Razer Death Stalker, I used a Logitec K-120. It always seemed to occasionally start typing random things and glitch out but for gaming, it worked just fine.

Well with $100, you're not buying anything epic that will cover all 3. Even replacing all 3 and bump up to something decent is hard to do for just $100.

As a good mechanical keyboard can easily cost this much or more.

If you are comfortable with your current Keyboard & Mouse (as only u can determine that), then I would say invest in a good quality Headset w/ Mic if you plan to actually put it to use for online gaming and anything else related to Audio, or perhaps Skype or Voice-Recording.

Amature sound mixing and recording can be done with headphones, but if you're looking to be professional you will need monitor speakers and a condenser microphone, which will cost big bucks. I'd avoid it. Find a good keyboard + mouse combo for around $100 and you will be good. You don't need to splurge for the 4k DPI laser mice and mechanical keyboards, just look for decent quality hardware and you'll end up spending maybe $20 over budget for the pair.
