CPU and GPU Benchmarks
I'm comparing different parts because i'm planning on doing a gaming pc build. Are Anandtech benchmarks reliable?
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/699?vs=701
could anyone suggest any better sites for comparisons?

Yeah they are pretty reputable, some other good sites are hardocp, tomshardware, hardwarecanucks, tech powerup, oc3d

I like these guys but one thing to know is it has no crossfire or SLI ability (that is why the fastest video cards are below the Titan i.e. 690 and 7990.) Rest seems good and many link the benchmark results. Even the "free version" gives you a good idea. There are LOTS of good benchmark tools out there for free. This is just one. I'll report more later. I have to game. lol

Same site as the above response except the CPU pages:

Take everything you read with a grain of salt. Also game benchmarks might not really be all that accurate because driver updates and updates to the games may change the figures. Some of the new games they use may have problems or poor optimization for PC. Generally a good brand new gaming PC should get over 60 FPS in all current games on high settings.

For that reason I'd prefer to use synthetic benchmarks, specially since AMD usually seems to receive optimizations later than Intel according to the game benchmarks I see.

I have a AMD and everything runs at it's FPS cap.

I also like these guys but I think their higher end video card benchmarks might be messed up in terms of more than just Crossfire and SLI. For example HD 6950 should benchmark over 10 times higher than the HD 7840D A4 APU IGP but for some reason it's only getting a score of around 3000~ while the HD 7480D and intel HD 4000 both get 460-465 points. The performance statistics of the HD 6950 are like 10 times or more better in every single way so you'd think it should be scoring like 4600+ but that is not the case. Either the benchmarks are not scaling in a normal 1 point = 1 fixed amount of power or else they are having some trouble accurately measuring the higher end cards.

No benchmarks are perfect remember.
