What were you looking to do exactly? Get a new MOBO/CPU/RAM; or what?
with a single card it will make no difference between pci-e x16 2.0 and 3.0
First thing found via google
What are your current specs?
What budget price range did u have in mind for upgrading?
@Teyo
Are you blind? He asked about AMD boards.
That's an Intel board.
I'm working on a Cheaper build as of now. For intel build I'm choosing the i3 3220 and a cheap MSI MOBO. For AMD I'm most likely gonna choose either a FX 6300, FX 8320, A10-5800k or a A10-6800k with another cheap MSI motherboard.

There are plenty of other good brands to choose from that offer cheaper priced boards, like Gigabyte, Asus, ASRock to name a few. But these 3 brands are about all I'd really suggest.
If you do not need the Radeon GPU built into an AMD APU, then avoid even using FM2 Boards. As they must use an FM2 APU/CPU and are not compatible with other AMD CPUs, such as AM3/AM3+
For an Intel setup, I would go with either Z77 + 3rd Gen i5 -or- Z87 + 4th Gen i5
2nd/3rd Gen use socket 1155; 4th Gen use 1150 socket.
If you are doing gaming, you don't want an i3, while it is decent, if u go beyond a mid-range GPU, an i3 will hold u back. Overall it is a Dual-Core, which in this day and age I would highly suggest you just avoid.
You can get ASRock Z77 Pro4 or Extreme3 mobo for around $95 or so. Anything cheaper and it's most likely going to have alot of limiting factors and overall lack of features.
Edit:
There is no good AM3+ board under $100
If you are going to use an AM3+ FX CPU, then you want a board that has a 970 or 990 chipset. Only reason to buy a cheaper AM3+ board is for installing a cheaper AM3 CPU, such as a Athlon II or Phenom II series CPU.
I did not even see that to be honest. Would you like micro ATX or full ATX?
Well alright. Heres two asus bords I would recommend. First one is micro, second one is full
