Well cpu should be fine but the gpu will make the real difference
Oh and as for a estimate on the graphics card needed( This is simply an estimate ) I would say a GTX 760 and up and for Radeon a 7870 and up , if you plan on playing medium to high the ones mentioned will be the ones you need anything higher would be for ultra , but theres a new engine being used, so it might be harder to tell

BF4 will use the new Frostbite 3 engine, which is a step up from its predecessor. While BF3 is rather tame compared to the likes of Metro Last Light and Crysis 3, BF4 will raise the bar on graphics standards. You will need at least a GTX 770M and a faster mobile CPU, especially an i7 quad-core, to run that game on at least high settings with good fps.

Battlefield 4 system requirements
The minimum PC system requirements for Battlefield 4 are expected to be:
Dual core CPU (Intel Core i5 or AMD “Bulldozer”).
At least 2 GB main system memory
Graphics card with at least 256 MB of VRAM and support for DirectX 10
20+ GB of harddrive space
Windows Vista

Recommended system requirements
The recommended PC system requirements for optimal visual quality and frame rates:
Quad core CPU (Intel Core i5 or i7) at 3 Ghz
4 GB memory (8 GB for 64-bit operating systems)
A modern DX11 graphics card with 1 GB of video memory, GeForce 600 series or Radeon 7000 series
Windows 7 64-bit operating system (Windows 8 is supported as well)
20+ GB of free harddrive space

You will not be getting any ultra quality but you can play BF4 with at least that processor. More info on your system would help better make a guestamate on how well your bf4 experiance would be.

I'm guessing that the video is the HD 3000 on that Core i5 CPU. I would say you are going to be hurting if that's case from a video perspective.

im gonna need an Alienware PC right?
You don't need an alienware machine but you probably need something better than what you have. Otherwise you would probably have to run it on minimum settings to get a good framerate. There's plenty of other games that rig can handle nicely, but BF4 would be a stretch

If you want to play that game wide open on ultimate you better have least 8gb of RAM, a good 4 core CPU and an awesome GPU. GPU I'm talking like GTX 670, 680, 760, 770, 780, Titan, 690, AMD 7950 dual or 7970 boost ghz edition.

no one needs an alienware pc
Dewfus 11 AGO 2013 a las 3:50
Also if you're upgrading your pc, I'd suggest not building one to "just play BF4" and only get parts to meet the recommended requirements. Future proof it for a little while so you're not upgrading it every time a new game comes out that you want to play. :)

My only concern with the bf4 release is hoping my AMD system (8350 cpu, 2 7970 ghz editions) won't have to wait for new drivers to play the game at its full potential.

Are u going to buy/build a desktop for this, or u want a better gaming laptop that will do the job?

Please specify what you're looking for, and how much of a budget limit is possible.

Cause this thread is going no where since they are mostly all talking about what to buy for a desktop, when the OP has pointed out his laptop specs (*hint* i5-2410M)

For a laptop, it's not going to be cheap by any means. In which case I would suggest an ASUS ROG Laptop or Sager Notebook.
