they will rip you off man, but do what you must...
Alienware is good, but WAYYYYYYYYY overpriced
If you're going for Alienware, go to eBay. For what you pay $5000 on Alienware's site I got for $1700 on eBay. I've got an Aurora R4, it's a beautiful machine and it's so easy to open the case up and switching parts out is a breeze.
I'd avoid Razer if I were you. Their products tend to go bad a lot from what I hear. I bought my first Razer product, a headset, and within 3 months the first pair went bad for no reason. I'm on my second pair right now and everything's smooth sailing for now, so really I haven't had too much of a hard time with them but I've heard a ton of horror stories from other people.
But i wouldnt bet on it.
Don't get the Razor either. It's a worse bang for the back than Alien. WAY over priced for the spec. Look for decent memory (8gb) a good GPU (GTX 780m), decent CPU (high end AMD or a I5 or i7 4-core) and good cooling (good exit fans) with decent space to save games (1TB or more.) Usually those laptops are heavy and large. If you want something small like the Razor look at the 7 series Samsung. They are thin and light and powerful just like the Razors at half the cost.
