if you want to overclock, you can get an i5 3570k /w z77 board for about the same price
then add the 212evo and overclock to 4+ghz
You should buy this rig. It should be good for atleast 6-9 months.
when you need a better gpu, you can spend about $250-300 and get something better
cx600 is good for a 300w gpu, so any single card will work fine
or if you have any parts to reuse from another system
drives, case, psu, os
If you alrady have a Win7 or Win8 disc, that could shave off about 100$ off the price.
Hey man I got you covered from $300-$1000, check these out:
This should be better than your PS3 or Xbox 360. Adding a discrete GPU later will probably bump it right up to speed to meet or beat the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
$306 - $10 rebate = $296 + S&H + tax
AMD A8-3870K APU (CPU+GPU) 4 core@3ghz & HD 6550D IGP, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD

Again better than PS3 or Xbox 360. Good for upgrading later with a discrete GPU that is HD 7790 or better (1840 GFLOPS with easy overclock or better) to beat the PS4 and Xbox1's technical specifications in all the ways a PC can.
AMD A10-6800K APU (CPU+GPU) 4 core@4.1ghz & HD 8670D IGP, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD
$454 - 11 combo discount = $443

This is starting to equal or better the PS4 and Xbox1 technically.
$535 - $15 rebate = $520~ + S&H + tax
Athlon II x4 750K 4 core @3.4ghz CPU, HD7790 OC 1GB GPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD

This is starting to get real nice, and of course it's better than the previous so it's better than the PS4 and Xbox1 in all the ways a PC currently can be I guess.
AMD FX 6300 6 cores @3.5ghz CPU, HD 7870 GE 2GB GPU, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD
$682 - $60 in combo discounts & rebates = $622 + S&H + tax

This is the top of your budget, like the others Windows is not included & there is pretty much no room to purchase whatever else you need in terms of making a complete system. This is also a very nice machine, but not worth skipping meals over. You will get good enough gaming performance from a lesser machine than this one I think.
AMD FX 8320 8 cores @3.5ghz CPU, HD 7950 Boost 3GB GPU, 16GB RAM, 3TB HDD
$992 - $66 combo discounts & rebates = $926 + S&H + tax

All these builds support overclocking the CPU, GPU, RAM and motherboard chipsets and have enough extra power to do this. All CPUs, IGPs, and GPUs are "unlocked" for overclocking which makes it much easier. All RAM is overclockable and unlocked also. Overclocking will or may void your warranty in whole or in part.
All builds except the very first will support GPU upgrades up to at least 2 discrete GPUs in 2 way crossfire of whatever type of GPU is being used in the build.
The second build only has power for up to 2 HD 7790's or 1 HD 7870 GE.
The first build will require a new PSU to be upgraded with any discrete GPU beyond HD 6670 or HD 7750. The HD 6670 can be crossfired with the HD 6550D IGP but I'm not sure that it would be able to with the HD 7750 as the 6550D is before the 7750's time.
The first and second build use Integrated Graphics Processors (IGP) which can crossfire with a HD 6670 GPU or in the case of a HD 8670D IGP from the second build maybe with a HD 7750 as well cause I have heard independant reports of that.
