Asus gtx 680 help

Ok so this is my first ever gaming pc and the asus gtx 680 direct cu ii is the version card that I have I need to know what drivers are what do they do and why are they Important and how do I update them for my card (pleas provide a link to the driver update page for my card)

Go to the nvidia website, go to drivers tab select the gpu model ( brand doesnt matter just the card type)

You can just go to http://www.geforce.com/drivers and either select your driver manually or have them auto-detect it for you. Once you get to the next page, just download what they recommend and you should be all set.

The Nvidia 326.01 driver is certified for Windows 8.1 preview, but is compatible with Windows 7 and 8. I heard that it is much better and more stable than the recent drivers. I just installed it and Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition has not crashed since upgrading from 314.22.

I have a Gigabyte GTX 680. I tried the Nvidia 326.01 driver and had issues with games like Borderlands 2. Kept blowing up and crashing randomly. I had lots of strange problems with 320.49 like tearing mid-screen and the GPU not working at full speed (underclocking) randomly. I'm currently using 314.22 and everything works fine for all my games. Some drivers work better with some games and suck at others. Just try one of the latest and see how it works for you. If it works party on. If it sucks, try another.

Thanks for the answers but do I need to restart my computor after I download it and what do the drivers do
