My suggestion for a first time builder would be to play around with, assuming you're in the US, pcpartpicker.com. Start off by selecting your processor which will narrow down the number of motherboards, narrowing down the RAM, etc.
Also, if you're dead set on Newegg, there is an option to narrown your parts down to those on Newegg. The only problem with sticking with one store is your total price will almost assuredly be higher than using numerous. When I built my PC a few months ago, I ended up going through Microcenter, Newegg, PC Outlet and Amazon.
and os
avoid newegg supercombos (more than 2 components)
often they are incompatable, or missing important parts
are you near a microcenter or frys?

m5a97 r2 is a good cheap board
if you need sli, asrock extreme3/4 or asus m5a99x are good
but id take the i5 3570k over the fx8000s
about the same price, and you can get a much cheaper board
That would be 8GB or 16GB.
Ya you'll need a dvd/cd drive, win 7 or 8 oem and an aftermarket hsf like cm212+ or evo.
I guess you're re-using your old case if not you'll need one of those too?
and fx 8350 doest bottleneck 3 ways sli 680 so :P
8gb or 16gb why? is not a server so any ram slot placement is good no need dual channel crap...
4gb and i play bf3 maxed with 3.8gb usage with ( 2 iexplorer page open steam xfire origin log me in teamspeak 3 skype msi afterburner and windows media i think it ok 6
m5a97 r2 i know it a good board it probably my future backup pc with fx 6300 overclocked to 4.5.. it a good overclocking board too
dont need to be a server to make use from it
2x4g kit is recomended for most builds
Im on 1333 2x2gb kvr lol
Because you don't lop side the ram, you can't get 6GB and 12GB in even pairs, you're quoting i7 9xx triple channel set up.
You have no idea what you're talking about Mr Goodfriend, dual channel is not crap.
I strongly support amd cpus but even I know x3 680s is gonna choke on the FX8xxx line
You support amd and your dont know that there new cpu out im almost sure :P ok stupids 220w cpu
Copy paste (Im trying to find a thread/post with a user called Red1776 who runs 4 7970's on his 8350 and he gets no bottlenecking.
Hes even into the top 10 of the heaven benchmarks and the only 8350 user in there.
The best is fx 6300 equivalent to a core 2 quad extreme and a 660 http://cdn.overclock.net/d/dd/900x900px-LL-dd97beb0_CRYSIS3.jpeg budget wise
crysis is badly optimised we all know that ;p
