mouse getting stuck only while in games
could this be a psu issue? i just bought a seasonic xseries 650w early this year.
i also recently would get that noise windows makes when you unplug or plug in a usb device for no reason. then my logitech controler and my keyboard started being weird and not working while plugged in. the light on my keyboard would be lit and not work or the light wouldn't come on at all. then i restarted my computer and before the dell boot up screen the screen said keyboard failure.
anyways the mouse is sticking in games now and its really annoying. if anyone has any suggestions for a fix i would be thankful.

What mouse is it?

Make sure the driver is up to date, I had a problem where my mouse would all of a sudden look down at the ground and get stuck there for a few seconds. Found out I needed to download the Windows 8 driver instead I was using the Win 7 one.

if the pc is losing its connection to the usb ports, thats most likely the problem

are you usnig the mouse thru a usb hub?
or do you have alot of usb devices?

if its a wireless mouse, it could be the battery

what do you mean losing it's connection? i have four ports in back, two in front, and one on top. i tried the front and top ports and got the same results.

not using a hub and only have my keyboard, controler and mouse plugged in. i did have an external hd and flash drive (authorization hardware for music software) but unplugged those in case.

it is wireless but always use the wired usb adapter so the battery is always charged. i tried a fresh battery to be sure but got the same results.

Do you have a wireless router nearby? Logitech mice operate at 2.4Ghz, which is also the frequency of the wireless routers (so those routers commonly interfere with wireless mice and keyboards), I commonly had such issues with MX Revolution before I put the mouse reciever much closer to the mouse.

i use it with the wired usb adapter and keep the mouses wireless dongle unplugged so thats not it.

ok this is not the mouse. a brand new mouse has the same issues. it also is not only in games but when i load web pages or any other thing that requires work out of the computer. it is also my keyboard not working on and off. makes it impossible to play games. at this rate i will have to buy a new computer.

EDIT: not trying to be over dramatic but i really am desperate for suggestions

something is wrong with the psu, board of usb ports on the case

try unplugging the cables from the usb headers on the board, and test just using the rear ports

i unplugged the top and front usb ports. the rear ports are of course just a metal box connected to the motherboard. the mouse still sticks just as bad.

im thinking it maybe some piece of software that got installed as an extra when installing something else. the extra was called controler somthing. i cant remeber what it was that i installed though and cant find the extra to uninstal it. maybe i could back up to a previous system state? cant remember exactly how to do that though.

Went to system restore and the furthest pint in history, 7/7/2013 has the very piece of software i was thinking of - Device Driver Package Install: MusCAudio Sound, video and game controllers. wish me luck on the system restore!
