youll need to edit the config file for it

Try the following:

1. Browse to directory C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Eidos\Batman Arkham City\BmGame\Config\
2. Open UserEngine.ini file with a text editor such as Notepad.
3. Change the line PhysXLevel=0 so that it reads PhysXLevel=1
4. Save and close the file. Run the game

I would go for ATI 7870 since it is better benchmark on hwbot.org. But if you have many game that use PhysX, it is good idea to get GTX 660 if you want hardware PhysX (that mean running on GPU).

i5 3470 can run physx off the cpu without any trouble

more cheaper boards support xfire than sli

and 7870 comes with free games
far cry3 blood dragon, bioshock infinite, tomb raider

I hate to hijacked here but how do you turn on PhysX on Batman Arkham City while I have ATI video card?

the 7870 is a better choice when facing the 660.

The better place to compare video card is hwbot.org.

You gotta download the DLL file and drop it in the Nvidia folder If i remember right .. been awhile

PhysX normally runs better off a GeForce GPU than the CPU.

with an i5/7 or amd x8 it wont make much of a difference
with an i3 or amd x4/6 it will lower the framerate or game performance

using a weak (ex. any gt card) for dedicated physx would be worse than uring the cpu

Install nvidia physix software and in its settings select the CPU to run the physix.
