I'd say the 7870 because you get free games with it if I recall correctly.
more cheaper boards support xfire than sli
and 7870 comes with free games
far cry3 blood dragon, bioshock infinite, tomb raider
(I Just Mentioned the PhyX because it natively supports it (and less CPU hits are a bonus when running demanding titles) I got a wack of free games from AMD belive me the headaches that insued with it was far from worth it :) and no I am not a Fan Boy :) looking forward to what AMD has instore for GPU's coming up they are now lagging quite far behind Nvidia with the release of the GTX 780 and the Titan (Sure they Do have the 7990) but be nice to see something other than the 7970 (arc)
Shame Nvidia is so cheap when it comes to releasing more titles with games !
I got 2 Copys of Metro last light with my 660's game its self was meh.
My Asus Direct CU OC 1020 2 GB never break 60c and are uber quite ! i cant hear the fans at all with my set up .
with my 7970's it sounded like a jet when playing games !!
so if sounds an issue to go asus ! not sure how they did on the 7970's i am sure if they did go the DCU route they did an A1 job my 7970s ran hot high 80's its a tight race anyways the both got there pros and cons

the 7870 is a better choice when facing the 660.
I would go for ATI 7870 since it is better benchmark on hwbot.org. But if you have many game that use PhysX, it is good idea to get GTX 660 if you want hardware PhysX (that mean running on GPU).

I hate to hijacked here but how do you turn on PhysX on Batman Arkham City while I have ATI video card?
The better place to compare video card is hwbot.org.
