Dell Ultra Sharp Monitors

Do ultra sharp monitors have a much more superior picture quality than a normal lcd monitor. Dell is selling a 30 inch monitor for 1499.99 are they worth the money?

I have the Dell U2711. It's the previous gen version to newer Dell U2713H(M) and the Dell U3014. I have a 24inch Dell monitor right next to my Dell U2711 and I can tell the comparison is not even close as the Dell U2711 blows it out of the water as the color calibration, resolution is obviously better than lower priced monitors.
The question now becomes is $1500.00 plus tax worth it for a Dell U3014? You can always find it cheaper as I usually see it on sale for around $1200.00. I bought my Dell U2711 on sale for $569 as you can find that price on Dell or even lower customarily. I understand you get a higher resolution and better specs with the 30 inch monitor, but that entry level price is steep. If you can affrod it then I say take the plunge my friend, but they're always cheaper options at the same resolution on ebay i.e. Yamakasi Leonidas. Personally I like having the peace of mnd with warranties so depending on where you're located you can weigh out your options.
