i did none lol
I upgraded to nicer motherboard, $3 difference, 970 UD3 vs 970 D3
I put in a 8 core FX 8320 CPU
I changed graphics card to HD 7950
I made sure to get the 4 free games bundled with this ^^^
I changed PSU to 600w
I changed the RAM to Patriot Viper 3 (it's what I use)
I added a USB wireless dongle
I removed the watercooler
Make sure you ask for a PIB AMD stock fan pictured HERE[www.google.ca]
Note, mine that I got on my AMD FX 8150 is not exactly like that it doesn't have the 4 little wings at the bottom and the copper pad is just a pure rectangle but other than that they seem to be the same and even though it's a foriegn language post it was the best set of pictures I found. Anyways that is the freely included stock cooling you get included with a AMD FX 8000 series CPU in the box with it so stick with that.
If you want to keep the price lower just:
keep the AMD FX 6300 6 core instead of the 8 core (spend more on the GPU before you upgrade this)
change the motherboard to 970 UD3
change the GPU to HD 7790 or better and make sure to take your free game bundle
change the PSU to 500w or better
Change the RAM to Patriot Viper 3
Add a usb wireless dongle for $9~
remove the watercooler, better to buy a faster CPU or GPU or save $ than spend money on this. If you want to get a faster CPU then go for FX 8320 and remove watercooler difference is only $14 between 8320 on stock cooler and 6300 on watercooler. If you max out to a FX 8350 and still want it faster then it's time to get a watercooler.
You'd really do better building one yourself though like I posted previously. The $1000 build you can build yourself is nicer than you can buy prebuilt in a lot of ways.

Here for under $650 including Windows 8 64bit:

Save your $350+ for future upgrades in case anything here needs to be pushed up to spec. It shoud all be good and can play current games very well. Performance is always cheaper to buy in the future after technology advances right? That's why save for then. Note that it doesn't have a Blu-Ray drive unlike console since I was assuming people would download their games from one of the many online services.
See Playstation 4 specs here to compare it to this build:
http://us.playstation.com/ps4/features/techspecs/
Note that the "8 core CPU" is probably a 1.6~Ghz (or there-about) customized netbook CPU with 8 cores instead of the regular 2-4 in netbooks. That means any current quad core (4 core) 3.2 Ghz desktop CPU should be it's equal.
If you want to spend $1000 all right away and not save any for later:

You can cheap down to a 2TB or 1TB HDD same brand and line if you absolutely need it to be exactly under $1000.
