DIY kits on Newegg?
I'm looking to buy a DIY Kit on Newegg and I'm just wondering, What ones I should go with?

My spending limit is $300 bucks. But this only for the kit. I can have more if I want to upgrade it.
So the kit must come with the option to upgrade the GPU. I'll just be going with a GPU / CPU combo at first. Also I'd like to have about 2-4 Ram slots.

Anyone got any suggestings on which DIY kits I should go with?

avoid newegg super combos
they often are missing parts, and sometimes have incompatable parts

are you near a microcenter?

check out the intel combos

yea, its like a candy store for computer parts

they have awesome cpu combos, knowledgable staff and a wide variety of parts
they will match newegg prices

what parts do you need for the $300
cpu, board, ram, gpu, hdd, odd, case, psu, os?

if its just cpu, board, ram
they had i5 3570k + msi z77a-g41 combo for $235+tax and you could get a 2x4g 1600 ram kit for around $60
Looking for a bare bones PC at the moment. Which I could upgrade in the future. OS will be either Linux or W7 depending if it comes with W7.
I'm looking to just start small, and build it into a medium-high end gaming rig.
a build for $300 that can easily be upgraded to a gaming machine doesnt exist
if you start at around $400-500, it can be done

you could start with something like this
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1cfCv
cpu: Intel Pentium G2020 2.9GHz Dual-Core Processor
mobo: MSI Z77A-G41 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
ram: Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
hdd: Western Digital Caviar Blue 250GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
gpu: none
case: Thermaltake VL80001W2Z ATX Mid Tower Case
psu: Corsair Builder 430W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply
odd: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer
os: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

Base Total: $419.85
Promo Discounts: -$3.00
Total: $416.85

the G2020 has the intel hd igp, which can play older games fine
and is good enough for flash and web games
source, quake4 and doom3 era games should be playable on it at lower settings

cx430 can run a 150w gpu in most sytems

first upgrade should be the gpu
a 7790 or 7850 are nice for around $200
if you pick a gpu over 150w, also get a better power supply

next should be the cpu, i5 3570k is the best gaming cpu for a z77 board
those are around $200

next ram, a 2nd matching (match the speed, volrage, timings) 2x2g or 2x4g ram kit
for 8g-12g of ram $30-60

a ssd or larger 2nd hard drive is always optional, a ssd will speed up windows boot time, and game load times, but will not improve framerates
$100-250

after that it would be around a $800-1000 build

edit: crysis3 will play on the g2020 with the intel hd igp
