I want to ask you to make the gaming rigs like this:

€500

......
.....
.....

Thanks and greetings,
caesar

he doesn't wants to play these on low but on med or higher. He needs to use his PC for some years. I think 3-5 years.

You're not going to build a PC with 300-500 euros that is going to last 3-5 years gaming on med-high settings with any sort of playable framerate. The Total War games are heavily CPU dependant and going with such a mediocre CPU will kill your framerates when big battles start (which is very frequent as you progress throughout the game).

Honestly, I'd bet you'll be seeing ports of Total War games on next gen consoles at some point. CA always said they'd like to do a console version but couldn't on the 360 and PS3.

if u would listen to my post it is $450 which equals to about 344 euros and that computer will last him a while with a good video card.

I'm not saying you can't build a good PC I'm just telling the OP you can't build one expecting med-high settings for that many years with this sort of budget. The only way to build your 2500k and 520 build is to get the cheapest mobo, memory, powersupply, etc. you can find and that's still over $500 since the CPU alone is $240. And no offense but the video card is just awful.[/quote]

Edit:

Went ahead and put something together:

Yes I know it's a little over budge. You can tell your friend to save up just a bit more to go for something better if he/she would like. As I said before you'd want a pretty good CPU for the total war games and this is better than the ones being recommended.

So I'm with Rove on this. AMD all the way with this budget. The AM3+ is going to support Steamroller as well and if this is your budget it's the best you can do.

Here is another slightly more expensive build for 540 Euros. It's with a AMD FX 6 core and a 2GB HD 7850 GPU as well as a nice ASUS motherboard with 970 chipset.

I'd replace the 550 XFX with the 650. That all depends on how much more you're willing to spend though. Other than that this is what I'd get. Spend a little extra on something much better.

and replace the board with one that can properly handle a 95-125w cpu

for the 95w cpu, find atleast a 4+1 power phase board
http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboards-vrm-info-database

the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P (rev 3.1) or GA-78LMT-USB3 (r4.1) or Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 are better than the other similar vers
but amazon.de does not show the board revs
M5A78L-M/USB3 would be your best bet for under €10 more

CHAMPIONOFSPARTA
i apologize i forgot that i already had a 2 tb hard drive that i would switch over to my new computer. I apologize i thought that processor would last longer than 3 years because my old intel r pentium r 4 cpu 3.0ghz,2.50gb of ram has supported my gaming from medium to high over the past 10 years. Why are newer processors not lasting as long? Sorry for the last couple post this post doesnt want to keep the rest in a box so im editing manually.
Guys don't forgett he is not going to play Shogun 2, Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai and Rome II. The Total Wars he is going to play are Rome, Medieval II and Empire. I think a 7850 is a good option because it is future proof and he can game Total War on high.

I now have this one:

http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/1csi3

CPU: Thats the one we all prefere to have in this build and it's a good bang for buck.
CPU cooler: - He isnt going to overclock or something like that.
MOBO: If he needs a new gpu later on he isnt going to do crossfire because in about 3-5 years he will needs a new mobo etc. This mobo has SATA 6gb/s and usb 3.0 too so that's future proof too.
RAM: good priced, 8 GB is enough for the futur and 1333 is enough too because this is a bugdet build en he doesn't needs high speeds RAM.
HDD: 500 GB is enough, enough and enough for him because he isn't going to install very much games etc.
GPU: a good price and i took the 2 gb because that's jsut some more future proof than 1 GB is.
Case: He likes the case and I watched the video of Linus and Newegg and some others and they say it's a pretty good case for the price.
PSU: I prefer Corsair but that's too expensive and I think because this one is from Seasonic and is Gold certifited it's a good one.
DVD-drive: just a dvd-drive....... ;)

The price has gone up to €560 now but when I search for other store's on google I can make it lower than €550 so that's not a problem.
