if its intel, get the 1.5v or lower kit
amd doesnt mind 1.7+v, but if you need to run it in an intel setup, it will cook the imc on the intel cpu
faster speed isnt always faster ram
simple way to compare kits
speed / cl = value (higher = better)
2400 cl10 = 240
2133 cl9 = 237
1866 cl8 = 233
1600 cl7 = 228
2400 cl11 = 218
1866 cl9 = 207
2400 cl12 = 200
1600 cl8 = 200
2133 cl11 = 193
1333 cl7 = 190
2133 cl12 = 177
once speed/cl is over 200 it makes very little difference
and 1x 16g will be single channel
for most things it wont make a huge difference, but for ram intensive tasks (video editing, vm, redering and some games ect..) it will make a noticable difference
on a 4x4g setup, when using different kits, put the same kits in the same colored slots

if its faster than 1333 cl9 dont bother replacing it, you wont notice much of a diff unless its for ram intensive tasks, or you plan on overclocking via fsb/bclk
the kit you linked, is 1600 cl9 1.5v, which is a good kit $63
here is similar kit about $18 less
Team Vulcan 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 cl9 1.5v $45
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313355
or a better kit for the same price
G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 cl9 1.5v $63

am3+ socket the rram is 16gb but probably ram that u would see from a prebuilt system
what about g skilled ripjaws ram?
ill look into the g skill ares ram
i think at this moment i am just gonna focus on saving up for a new cpu and cpu cooler and one more question do u think this cooler will be ok with this cpu?
here is the cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113284
and here is the cpu cooler that i currently have http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065
let me know what u think
actually dont worry about ill end up buying ram maybe at the end of this year no time soon probably
http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
run cpuz -> spd tab -> select each slot
look at the xmp profiles
freq is half of the speed if its in dual channel (check memory tab, channel #)
533 is 1066, 667 is 1333, 800 is 1600 ect..
and lower timings are better, cl9 is common
if its 1333 cl9 or better dont worry about getting faster ram
the 212+ is an excellent cooler for 125w cpus
wouldnt this cpu cooler be better?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608018 wait i forgot u told me u didnt know much about it shouldi get this or a hydro series cooler by corsair?
even a mild overclock, but dont oc on that board without vrm heatsinks
