Umm, 670 is relatively equal to 7950, it's much "faster" than 7870.

I've got a HD7870 and really like it but the GTX670 is the better Optionif your willing to pay more.

Just a note, the HD 7870 XT is a lot better than the HD 7870 Ghz Edition and almost par to the HD 7950.

The GTX 670 kills the 7870 and even a GTX 660 can trade blows with it. But you would be smarter to get a GTX 770 since it kills them both.

At least in my local computer shops there is about a $100.00 difference between the 2. Myself once again in-spite of wanting to switch over to an Intel/Nvidia set up (just to try it out it's been years) I'm going to end up probably getting the HD7870 2Gb because cost/performance it seems to beat out Nvidia.
Locally the 670 GTX is about $40 more than the 7950 and $40 less than the 7970 so I think it would be better compared against those 2. Of course if power consumption is an issue than I know the 7870 is very good and I think the 660 GTX would be about the same.

Ha ha I was going to say my last 4 video cards have been Sapphire but there was an ATI one in there briefly. They've been rock solid for me to the point of I'd almost be nervous buying a different brand. Each one was upgraded because it was made obsolete by time. Of course I'd hate to see you try them out and get a dud. My personal experience has been great.

Well, not sure what to say about it, I didn't read all the thread, I might go back when I have more time, but the last entry was back in sept. 2012. And I a few of the threads did mention they were overclocking their CPU. Some people don't realize what will sometimes not show up in a benchmark or a stress test will show up in games.

But really I've been keeping my eye on that card and never really seen any issues mentioned. And I have seen it recommend for it's cost to performance ratio by a lot of people who really would know what they are talking about.

I might follow up on what you've mentioned before purchase as I haven't been in much of a rush. I bought a HD4890 OC Vapor-X 2Gb (Sapphire) just as people were switching to directX 11 and have really only had an issue recently with one game that "may" require directX 11 and not 10. Anything less than a HD7870 wouldn't even be much of an upgrade.
