GTX 690 Bad Performance
My gtx 690 has been showing much lower performance than its supposed to be showing on many different games. The games that I play support multi gpu configurations, but some give me ZERO performance increase while running multi gpu rather than just one of them, so it's as if I've been receiving half performance. I frequently get low gpu usage from each gpu on this card while running both gpu's, resulting in low frame rates while playing games, and the card refuses to use more resources and graphics processing power (essentially use more percentage of each gpu) to accommodate for the low performance. It actually starts to use LESS of each gpu the more graphically intense a game gets, which is proving to be counterproductive to maintaining good performance. For example, in borderlands 2 at one point I was getting only around 40 frames per second, and only 30% of each gpu was being utilized, rather than the 50% it normally utilized of each gpu. After disabling one of the gpus, borderlands 2 performance did not increase at all. My average frame rate in most games from the GTX 690 are far from
that of what should be the average frame rate on the same games with this card, as stated from multiple resources on the internet. Changing settings in both the nvidia control panel and in the games themselves, installing the latest drivers, and re-installing all the programs, games, drivers, and OS on my computer on a completely separate storage device have not fixed the problem. Also, the rest of my computer hardware is NOT bottlenecking this product at all. Can someone please help or enlighten me, because i'm really starting to think that this card has a problem with the way it tries to utilize itself in games, and performance wise it's very hit and miss from the other 690 benchmarks that i've seen. I'm starting to consider RMA

have you checked the gpu temps during this issue? is the gpu's heatsink dirty with dust and restricted? if so the bios of the gpu will throttle down the gpu clock speed. also do you have power management set too prefere maximum performance? it's in the manage 3D settings in nvidia control panel, by default it is set too adaptive which will lower voltage of the gpu and therefore lower clock speeds.

Just checked all, temps are normal, clock speeds across both gpu's seem to be boosting, but both gpu's do not have the same exact clock speed (don't know if thats normal), and yes, i have power management to prefer maximum performance. Still, in saints row 3 fps drops as low as 50 fps

What are the rest of your specs? You could be bottle-necking.
3570k stock, 8gb of ram, 750w psu, 120gb ssd, asrock z77 extreme 4 motherboard. I dont see any bottlenecks here...
How long have you had it and how long has it been working correctly?

I found a comment on newegg about the EVGA GTX 690: "♥♥♥♥: Well, two 680s run better, two 7970s run better, two titans run better. Do not try to run two 690s in sli, constant driver issues and u actually will lose fps even with k boost locked in. Do not do it. I switched to two titans now I wish I just bought two 780s for half the price"

Put this computer together a few weeks ago and it has worked the same throughout. And yes all of the computers parts function.

I personaly would return both and get SLI or crossfire in a diffrent GPU : /
different clock speeds is normal for sli, which is what your running. I run 2 GTX 580's in sli and sometimes the clock speeds are different and sometimes not. but yes as sir mongoose said try 2 seperate cards in sli, I also have read lots of people with issue's with both the GTX 590 and GTX 690 duel gpu single cards.

also I just ordered a PNY GTX 680 4GB vram card that is on sale at Amazon for $461.00 which is less than a GTX 690 if you bought 2, and will perform better.

I have to asking one question. Are you SLI your GTX 690?

No, I am not running two 690's nor to I plan to in the future. Just one of them.

Then what two multi-gpu setup where you running that gave you bad preformance?

he is running a single GTX 690 that is a dual gpu card therefore it's sli.

Oh, okay. Yeah I'd ask newegg for a replacement to see if it any is better.
Have you run the driver auto conficranion and what driver version are you on ?
