Looking to upgrade
Hey guys, I have recently decided to upgrade my pc, it's served me very well so far but now Iwant to push it that little bit further so I can experience my games on full graphic settings. I have been looking around at some graphics cards but as yet have not decided on which one to buy, this is my current system

Acer Predator G5900
Intel Core i7 875k 2.93 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 5850
8GB DDR3
Windows 7 Home Premium.

I'd much prefer an Nvidia card than an ATI one for an upgrade, I don't like the Catalyst software. I'd love to go out and buy something like the Asus GTX Titan but unfortunately I can't justify spending the best part of £900 on a graphics card. So on a budget of say maximum £350, what would be the best performing Nvidia card for me?

It depends on your power supply and how much it can handle. If it has one 6-pin PCI-E connector, then get the EVGA GTX 660. If it has two PCI-E connectors, then get the EVGA GTX 660 Ti. Your G5900 should be factory equipped with a 500 W power supply, so you will need a bigger one if you want a GTX 670 or better.
Check fist if your bourd Suppots SLI
The psu is a LITEON model PS-6451-5, it's a 450 Watt so I'll need a new one of them. The motherboard doesn't support SLI and it is an H57H motherboard. So what psu size should be ideal to go for? I'm going to have to do some more research on the graphics card.

How old is your pc ?
I bought it just over a year ago now.
The board you have it not worth geting to much of a high end card becouse you not going to get the full paformance out of the card.
I should maybe buy a new motherboard too? Money isn't realy a problem I can build it as I go along. Or would it be more a better idea to build a pc from scratch?
I wood. What are going to do on the pc ?
I know you are going to play games.
Becouse that deatermane what proccesor to go AMD or Intel
The pc is mainly for gaming and internet. So I will probably go Intel and Nvidia for cpu and graphics, I don't like ATI's Catalyst software at all. I'd prefer to upgrade this one but given how Acer cheap out on building their systems I'd probably be better off just building a new pc myself.

I help you out
Thanks man, I read up on this Predator G5900 of mine and spoke to an unhelpful tech assist guy, seems Acer don't like people messing with their builds and offered no help, I kind of saw that coming.

I want to build a pc that in future will be upgrade friendly but also powerful enough to max out games present and for the forseeable future. I'd preferably want a higher end core i7 processor, looking into the EVGA GeForce GTX 680 as a gfx card, probably 12gb ram, OS not really needed, I can use my Windows 7 for it. So they are the base needs, just need to look into compatibility etc, I'm really noob at this so sorry for that :)

for gaming you dont need an i7 (only adds hyperthreading which can hurt some games, and will only help with programs designed for it)

for the price diff between the i5/i7 get a better gpu
8g of ram is still more than enough, get a 2x4g 1600+ cl9 (or lower) kit

intel builds will be around $700 and up

start with something like this and tweak as needed

Get the i7 while you can for future-proofing your build. More newer games, such as Crysis 3, are beginning to take advantage of more than four cores/threads. Additionally you will have more headroom when it comes to other studio tasks, such as photoshop and HD video editing. The 3770K is a great choice.
