Suggestions
My pc specs are

Intel i7 2600k
evga gtx 660 ti
8gb ram
2tb hdd
650w psu
a horrible uknown pegatron 2ac2 mobo
and a horrible pc case

In my opinion I should upgrade my cpu to a i7-3770k, that would mean I should get a new motherboard because my current motherboard is a sandy bridge motherboard,
maybe also a 750w psu, and the corsair graphite series 600t mid tower (white). Maybe sli gtx 660 ti or single gtx 680

Are these good upgrades or should I get different ones leave suggestions thanks

see if your current board will support the ivy cpu

if its for gaming, get the i5 3570k
unless you need the ht on the i7 (for high res video editing or vm's ect..)

whats the brand/model of your current power supply?

and the corsair 600t is an extremely nice case

My current board is ivy bridge supported but the thing is I would lose pcie 3.0 if I use a sandy bridge cpu, and my psu is diablotek not the best but got it for 45 buck on tigerdirect

yea, replace the diablotek psu asap

3570k is an ivy 1155 cpu

PCI-E 3.0 doesnt make a difference on Single GPU setups, it only comes into play with 2 or more GPUs.

Upgrading just to get PCI-E 3.0 when its not going to benefit you isnt really a cost worthy upgrade.

Plus an i7 2600k is pretty good in itself so i dont see why youd want to waste money on a minor upgrade.

If your motherboard is terrible you could upgrade that, but if you do then youd have to reformat your HD as you most likely wont bootup properly without doing so, but if you have to do that anyway then you may as well get the new CPU while your at it.

All in all, theres many different factors that you have to consider whether upgrading just your motherboard for ur current CPU, or upgrading for a motherboard and a new CPU. would have to format either way.

Now if you still want to get an Ivy Bridge CPU, u could see if your motherboard has a BIOS update that would support it and in doing so wont require a new motherboard and have to format in the process.

Your PC is more than fine if you want more power/fps get another 660Ti and your done if the PSU is a good one it should be ok at 650W, maybe get a Z77 Motherboard[www.scan.co.uk] to go with it.

if you need the current parts for another system, you can do the i5 3570k

but the i7 2600 is still good enough for all current games

if you dont need the spare parts, just get a good psu

Would you say there are any game's out that even fully use an old i7 920 or even an old Core 2 Quad (@3.0+)?

Well tbh i had a C2Q Q8300 and once i upgraded to an i5 2500k i noticed a huge improvement.

But you cant really compare a 775 socket to an 1155 or even a 1366, theres still considerable differences inside and outside of games.

But im sure there arent much differences between a 2600k and an Ivy Bridge.

But all i said in my OP is really all there is to it.
