Does anyone use rechargeable batteries on wireless Xbox 360 controller?
Rechargeable batteries are NiMH, but it specifically states near the battery compartment that you should use alkaline batteries. I don't want to waste my time buying rechargeables if it's not really compatible.

yes. you can use NiMH but keep in mind. It will drain fast than alkaline battery. There are Li-ion which is recommend for xbox 360.

i have some ni-mh batteries, they last over 3-4mo with light use

cheap versions don't hold the charge the same as expensive ones - they give out a stable voltage for longer, then die fast, but charge faster and last longer, Tbo i'd consider a cheap ebay option and buy this type of thing :
