Video Cards for Lenovo G460.
Hello.
I have a Lenovo G460 laptop, it has an Intel Integrated "HD" Graphics card, so I have been thinking about changing the video card. I found about "discrete cards" and that the only compatible one with that laptop model is the Nvidia Geforce 310M with 512MB. I'd like to know:
Is that video card better than an Intel Integrated with 1.6 GB? I heard Integrated cards run on PC RAM but I need to make sure. And also, would a Geforce 310M work good on the following games:
Sonic 4 Episode 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Sonic Adventure 2?
S4Ep2 has an audio desync and laggy controls, SA2 is laggy by default and L4D2 is fine though choppy, which can be annoying at certain times or stages. Would that discrete card work on these games?

I already checked that website, didn't help much. There's no information on any of the games I play. Also, I forgot to mention the compatible 310M is 512 MB.

If you read that review on the notebook check web site it specifically says

4. Low-End Graphics Cards

Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

I wouldn't spend the money.

I understand what you mean, but having an Intel Integrated "HD" Graphics Core i3 is basically low-end as well. So I thought a video card by Nvidia would be better. I honestly don't have the money to buy it yet, but I was just making sure by asking if it's good or not. Thanks, I guess.
And by the way, I'm a bit confused with something in that. What exactly does it mean by "Non demanding"? Low-ended games or something? Sorry for the dumb question.

For the amount of money you'd have to spend, that card is not worth buying. Save your money. Nvidia is a good brand, but like many other manufacturers, they make a wide range of products. Some of those products are adequate for gaming; others are not.

Non-demanding means they don't require a lot from the GPU or CPU - games in 2D, for instance, will be less demanding than games in 3D.

But it's the only video card compatible with a Lenovo G460 laptop.

well, I guess my only choice would be to buy a brand-new laptop or desktop...And that'd cost lots more than a single video card. Tsk, and to think I could've bought a laptop with AMD/ATI processor/video card if I had R$100 more instead of this... Thanks for the help, though. Guess I gotta wait until I have a better computer to play S4Ep2 or SA2HD.
