You should tell what the rest of your rig is first.
Like PSU, CPU, motherboard and current GPU.

550ti isnt a bad card, would cost over £200 to get something better

id recomend a ssd for windows, will speed up everything that uses the boot drive
your seagate is a 5900rpm drive, save it for a nas or external drive
pick up another 1tb 7200rpm drive for your games

what about SLI? see am waiting for far cry 3 on steam? and cheers for the input.
your board supports 16/4 sli, would work good

for sli, 2x 550ti = about 240w
roughly 250-300w for the rest of the system
a quality 550-600+w psu will work

what power supply do you have?
brand/model?

its a silver stone 1000 watt?
GTX 670 for ~350$ or GTX 660 Ti would be great.
HD 7750 is a great card for me its a $115 on newegg, not that knowledgeable on pc though. I was able to play Far Cry 3 on ultra (no AA), it did freeze once though.

This is probably the best you will get for a 250 quid budget
XFX HD7950 DD 3GB[www.scan.co.uk] - £220

or if you prefer Nvidia

EVGA GTX 660Ti 2GB[www.scan.co.uk] £220

From the benchmarks i have seen the 7950 is the better card overall.

If you want somthing good for less you can grab a Radeon HD 7850 2GB[www.scan.co.uk] or a GTX 570 1280MB[www.scan.co.uk] for around £140, the 570 is slightly the better card.

think you should look at the GTX 660 TI on nivida website good graphics card for an affordable price
how do the games look on that TV, I would get a new monitor instead of a GPU, you are only running 1024x768, most of these suggestions would be overkill

660ti is the best value currently.

If I myself, had £250 to spend on a GPU would stay with Radeon. Thay're better for budgets, but with a small downside on power.
