Looking for My First Gaming PC
Hi,
I have been a console gamer for years now, but am soon to going to start on PC. I am not interested in building a PC. I plan to buy one, and upgrade it as I go. I'm a student, so I don't have a big budget. I have been searching on Newegg.com, trying to find a good PC in my price-range. So far, this seems to be the best I could find: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883155365
Does this seem to be a good option for the price?

no! it won't play 95% of the games out no worth a darn as it has graphics built into the cpu so you can only play games such as solitare etc, and if you try too upgrade it you might aswell just buy another computer as everything in the Dell would need replaced. sorry but you need too keep shopping, the one you picked so far is a student computer and is not advertised as a gamer, look in new eggs gaming pc section

I've looked online and seen that the graphics card can play games such as Left 4 Dead 2, Darksiders, and some others. If I were to get this PC, I would eventually pick up a better graphics card.
But I will keep looking, I just don't have a big budget. Could I find a better one for around the same price?

Not likely.

good enough PCs for gaming start at 500 at the Least, 600 gives a little more room for mixing things up.

If i was you i wouldn't get this c***, Build one up for yourself get knowlege on gaming pc`s because you`ll be saving money and be getting a better pc for your money and you won't be paying for the brand name and that computer will probably overheat in like half hour playing games.

yeah that HD2000 is integrated graphics, and might run the odd newer game, but it won't cut it for the most of them out there.. i3 should be ok for some, maybe not all games. For example, I wouldn't recommend playing supcom on an i3, not enough cores. and as for RAM, DDR3 is ok, but you want at least 4 gigs if your operating system is x64 or it'll likely not operate properly. If you buy that, you're being had mate.. _I_ has a lot better link, and building one yourselkf even on a budget is usually a better idea every time, it's not really too difficult :)

Alright, well thanks for the replies. I'll keep searching for PCs, and I'll look into possibly building one.

building one isnt as hard as it sounds, like expensive legos, find a cpu/board with the same socket, ram that fits

and then hdd/ssd, odd (dvd/bluray drive), case and power supply
toss in the windows disc and let it install

I have a question. I don't have the money to build one, and the price of the PC I have linked above is pretty much the highest I can go right now. For that price, is it a good PC?
_I_ 2012 年 12 月 3 日 下午 3:27
no

can you bring the budget up a little?
for $530 this is a good start

ASUS CM1745-US006S Desktop PC A10-Series APU A10-5700(3.4GHz) 8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity AMD Radeon HD 7660D Windows 8 $530
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220217

its $130 more, but you get 4x the hdd size, 4x the ram, 2x the cpu, usb3, and a gpu capable of games on low-mid (amd 6770d apu )

if you an only go up $50 get this one
ASUS CM1740-US-2AG Desktop PC A8-Series APU A8-3820(2.50GHz) 8GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity AMD Radeon HD 7470 1GB DDR3 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit $450

Thanks for the links!

Sorry for all the questions (and the double-post) but with the money I have right now, if I were to buy the original computer I wanted, what all would I need to upgrade to make it a decent PC?
_I_ 2012 年 12 月 3 日 下午 4:47
the computer in your op is an 1155 setup
upgrading is possible, but to eqil those builds youll need to spend about
$190 on a cpu
$40 on ram
$50-100 on a gpu
$60-80 on a hdd

Eh.. that doesn't sound fun.
Well, I did some more searching under, but under "Refurbished." How are these two?

Since I would be saving money, I would have extra to purchase a new graphics card, motherboard, RAM, or whatever else would be needed.

Here are two builds that will get you gaming For under $400, both which have plenty of upgradable, but still good components:
