Problems with installing Nvidia GT 640 software
I want to replace my geforce 210 with my new Gt 640 (both from Nvidia).I watched a youtube video to delete all of Nvidia's drivers from the old card AND while installing i clicked custom and clean the old files, but im still not able to download any of the drivers. It says it cant install, not compadable, and fails. From this summary are you able to tell me whats going on OR give me a solution to this problem?

Well..

Make sure you are downloading the correct drivers for your card and your operating system along with if its a 32bit OS or a 64bit OS.

Go to Nvidia's website and download the newest driver. When you run it it removes the old driver and replaces it with the new one automatically(make sure you pick the correct one for your OS and GPU). People say you need ot delete the driver manually to completely get rid of it or it might cause problems but its bs, I've done that on 4 systems with no problems and its how nvidia reccomends updating your drivers.
The only time you should have to remove video drivers is if you change to a different brand of video card (like Nvidia vs. ATI). There was no need to remove video drivers when going from Nvidia to Nvidia, especially if the old one was supported by current drivers.

Normally if running Windows and you look at optional updates, that would have suitable drivers. My computer that I bought in 2010 came with a GT 220. I switched that to a GT 430, but that was a cheap Galaxy card from China. When that failed just after its one year warranty was up, I got an EVGA GTX 550 Ti with 3 year warranty. And I did not need switch drivers in Windows or Linux when switching cards, I simply updated the drivers as new versions came out.
I only had this problem once. Turned out I accidentally downloaded the mobile/notebook version of the driver. Make sure you get the correct version.
