Steelseries Siberia v2 crackling sound
So after my G35 died a few days ago I decided to go out and buy a different type of headset. While I was browsing through the massive selection I happenend upon alot of different headsets made by steelseries. Being a tiny bit more expensive I figured that the siberia v2 would be an overall better product than the G35. Unfortunately it seems that I was wrong.

Here is my problem, the headset is making a crackling/scratching/popping (whatever you call it) sound while i'm playing games. The only game where it doesn't happen (that I have played while using the headset) is counter strike source. The problem also doesn't happen while the menue in a game is open.

The problem is driving me crazy and I haven't been able to find any type of solution for it. Yeah it isn't loud or anything so I guess most people would probably be able to live with the problem, but I can still hear it.

it could be a ground issue

is the headset usb or 3.5/2.5mm plugs
are you using a sound card, rear or front jacks?

some cm cases have bad grounds for the front panel usb/power/audio/switches, and will cause strange issues like that

try the headset on a different pc or audio source, and a different headset and see what could cause the problem

I'm using the usb + 3.5 and it makes the crackling noise on both of my pc's.

I already tested my brothers g35 and there are no detectable problems.

Hi, I have a newly bought Siberia v2 USB and I have the Crackling sound too. I tried to plug directly on the PC or with the extension cable, and I have the same problem. Downloaded the software, and it did not fix anything(But at least now I can control the lights).

Any idea on how to stop the crackling noise?

I have Siberia V2 for about 2 years now and it started making these noises when staying in quiet for a while. It calms down gradually after I play something through them, but only until it becomes silent again. I use audiojack, front pannel
