is the headset usb or 3.5/2.5mm plugs
are you using a sound card, rear or front jacks?
some cm cases have bad grounds for the front panel usb/power/audio/switches, and will cause strange issues like that
try the headset on a different pc or audio source, and a different headset and see what could cause the problem
I already tested my brothers g35 and there are no detectable problems.
Any idea on how to stop the crackling noise?
