You should get a bigger power supply (at least 650w) since the CPU has a TDP of 130w. Everything else looks great.
Ok thanks :)
if it was for rendering, massive video editing, lots of vm that setup would be better
2011 setup is going to be way overpriced for a gaming machine

get a 1155 setup
3570k with a z77 board is the best for gaming (3770k if you need ht, but games do not use it)
then spend the extra on a better gpu, the extra $100 should get a 670 or 7970

Get a 3570K and a GTX 670 or 680 if it's more for gaming than anything else.
3770k actually out performs the x79 platforms in some benchmarks. Id go that route instead since its cheaper. Get fuly modular power supply or at least semi modualr a good case and a gtx 670 or 680 like others have said and you have yourself an awesome build.
If you just doing gaming Z77 board will be fine to go for. Athere go for the I5 or i7 if you need it.
The only CPU that is really worth it if going for x79 and quad-channel RAM is the 3930K six-core, but it's only necessary for studio projects like AutoCAD, game development, and HD video rendering. For gaming, though, z77 is a better bang for your buck; however, the Haswell CPUs and z87 motherboards are coming in less than two months, so you may want to consider waiting for a 4670K or 4770K. By that time, new BGA models, like the 4770R, will have the CPU embedded into the motherboard with Intel HD 5200 so that kind of combo could end up costing you even less.
What type of minotor and resolution are you going to be playing on and what kind of quality are you hoping to get?

Personally I'd get a i5 and spend the savings on a better GPU and power supply, those coolermaster elites are a little shaky.
Gonna use my HD 32" via HDMI. Already gotta monitor just for spare.

Well if you dont plan on overclocking and want i7 performance I would get a xeon e3-1230 v2, its rather unknown by most but one of the best kept secrets by intel, for 240$ its basically an i7 with no integrated gpu and non overclockable for nearly 100$ less than 3770K

Just make sure the mobos bios supports the E3 series before you buy one but most do, my h61 board supports it even. On graphics card in that price range I would get a 7950 but with the money savings you get from above you could get a gtx 670 or radeon hd 7970.

Assuming your max resolution is 1080p HD, I'd certainly drop to an i5 and spend the extra on a really good card. I've got an i52400 @3.1Ghz paired with a GTX 680 and I basically max out every modern game at 1080p while averaging 60+ FPS
Yeah its 1080p !

If you're near a Microcenter, you could snag a 3770K for only $230. Then use the extra money towards a GTX 670 and you'll have yourself a monster rig.
i have to agree, 2011 socket is not really required unless you plan on doing more then just gaming.

1155 socket i5 or i7 would be alot better and may infact save you a bit of money.

May want to consider going with Windows 7 if possible, but thats just my opinion.

Now's a bad time to build a new rig. Unless you need it today, wait 5 weeks and you can get a 4770K (Haswell) and one of the new 700 series[www.guru3d.com] GPUs.
