HELP! pc freezing while playing high graphic games

Ok so my PC has been freezing when I play high graphic games like Guild wars 2, I would like to know whats causing it, and how to fix. Please help ASAP!

Here are my PC specs:

Windows 8
Processor *AMD 6200 Six-Core
RAM *10.0 GB
GPU *msi r7770 pe1gd5/oc
PSU *460 wats
HDD *1.5 TB

P.S - When running Guild wars 2 the highest temp. the GPU reaches is about 60 C.

if it was a quality 400w power supply im sure it would be fine, but the oem psus are poor for upgraded pcs
a good upgrade would be the cx430/cx430m
cs430 is $45/35ar

either can run a 150w gpu in most systems

You sure it's the psu? Because I can play

stuff like league of legends with no freeze but when I play guild wars 2 it's freezes

A couple of reasons could be causing this.
1. PSU is not enough.
2. Overclock is not stable.
3. Driver Errors.

60* is high but not unstable. If you are hitting those temps im guessing you have overclocked your card. in that case return to default and test the game.

Drivers is a common problem with any ATI/AMD product. try downloading the latest drivers from ATI/AMD website and unistall your old ones.

Your power supply could be either messing up or it may not be outputting enough for your setup. if non of the above fix it I would suggest picking up a 600w Corsair PSU for approx $60.

60°C is a perfectly healthy load temperature for a video card. If its overclocked (and you didn't apply it) then its a factory overclock which should be no cause for concern. And this does not sound like a power-related issue to me—your PSU is probably adequate, and power problems don't typically cause freezes.

This is AMD's most recent driver. Note that this is the 64-bit version; you didn't say that you had Windows 64-bit, but I sure hope you do with that much RAM. I would recommend first uninstalling your current driver.

If this is only occurring in GW2, I'd recommend running the "-repair" command (explained here: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Command_line_arguments), or reinstalling it entirely as the files for that game can be finicky. It might be worth trying anyway.

You probably need to be in safe mode first. Windows key + R (Run.. dialog) > type msconfig > under the "Boot" tab, check the "Safe boot" box and restart.

Once in Safe mode, your Catalyst driver probably shows up under Control Panel > Programs and Features (check that its actually there before you do any of this, as I don't have an AMD card and can't double-check) with your other installed programs. Uninstall it while in safe mode from there.

Repeat the first step to uncheck Safe boot and restart. You could install the new driver while in safe mode or normal boot, it doesn't seem to matter.

^^^^ I honestly don't know if any of this is necessary with drivers these days, but in this case (where drivers seem the most likely cause) some extra caution might pay off.

You can try using MSI Afterburner to lower the GPU clock and memory speeds to help with the crashing issues. Using EVGA Precision X, I turned the speeds of my superclocked GTX 660 down to the original OEM reference clock levels on Far Cry 3 and that game no longer seems to crash on very high / ultra video settings.

Off hand id say Drivers, or being as its an AMD CPU that is known to have issues with games it could need a BIOS update and windows FX CPU hotfixes to resolve.

While the PSU sucks i really dont think thats the issue.

drivers typically just overwrite each other anyways dont they? i have an nvidia card and ive rolled back to older drivers a couple times and they just overwrite. ive never had to delete drivers.
