7970 - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=LT-007-OE
but so far two have said to go for the radeon?
Wow, sorry i messed up, its not 7970 its a 7970M and a nvidia 680M
Also buy the RAM upgrade for 16~GBP to 8GB (or more) and then set 2-4GB as shared video memory for your GPU. 4GB is a little low on RAM anyways (my system is currently using 4.1GB actively of the 32GB available) and your 7970m with 2GB GDDR5+2GB DDR3(shared system memory) should function mostly the same as a 4GB HD 7970m. Just remember to set that manually.
Also you might want a quad core CPU, dual core probably meets minimum specs for most games but there are a few that list quad core as "recommended" and eventually it'll be creeping into minimum specs as well, though probably not until Intel has made them standard and is building 4+ core mainstream CPUs which still could be a few years at least. Also it's a laptop CPU which generally isn't as powerful as desktop.
My biggest advice though is that laptops aren't for gaming unless you are rich and can afford it in addition to your main gaming rig and can also afford the higher price+more frequent upgrades or you really have no other choice cause you are traveling or something. If it's your one and only main computer for home use in a private space (in the case that you share a living space) then I strongly recommend that you personally build yourself a desktop computer for the same price cause you will get like *2 the value or performance (whichever way you decide to go) at least.
For the price you are looking at (assuming you were not thinking to add any extras to either build) you could probably get a desktop with:
*CPU: Intel i7 3770K or AMD FX 8350
*GPU: Nvidia GTX 680 (at least 50% better than 680m) or AMD Radeon HD 7970 Ghz edition
*Motherboard: reasonably nice Intel or AMD ATX size for $100-200~ (note USD $ not GBP)
*Memory: 16 GB DDR3-1600 or faster
*HDD/SSD: 240-512GB SSD SATA 3 6GB/s or 120-128GB SSD SATA 3 6GB/s + 3TB 7200RPM HDD SATA 3 6GB/s
*Case: Aluminum Lian-Li ($ 90 for cheapest) or other nice case to your taste
*PSU: 750watt (or more) 80 plus certified
*Optical Disc Drive: DVD or Blu-Ray (also does DVD & CD) burner as per your needs
*Monitor: 1920*1080 20+ inches ($100-200)
*Windows 8 Professional 64 bit
*Cooling: whatever fans your case has space for but did not come standard with.
* bells, whistles and ribbons
And that's why desktops are better...
Also you can overclock them either to get more performance right away (at cost of risk) or to squeeze the last drops of life from them when they are becoming obsolete.
Laptops you can not really overclock.
I have a freind who is mega pcgamer and built his computer and he keeps saying get a desktop, but thats the thing a "desk"top i like being able to lay on my bed and play, or go down to the living room and play and during the weekends i live in a completely different house. Besides,
from what i have read as long as the fps is over 30 there is no visible difference and i have studied online and the readeon 7970m should be able to handle ALL current games at max settings at over 30 fps and most at 45 - 60 and years from now once the games get to advanced fro the laptop i can turn down the settings a bit. (soz for my lack of paragraphs, my grammer is terrible XD)
But thank you very much for your reply and recomendations, i was not expecting my topic to get a reply in the first day! ty again
The fps is what i believe count's.

Forgot to add these links to my last post for your own personal study.
Also you can see why the desktop GPUs are better than mobile :p
I personally can not imagine being able to play games very well (except turn based) while lying down or sitting with the laptop on my lap.
Consider getting a $40-60 Android or Windows CE tablet from www.dhgate.com or somewhere and a desktop for gaming because you will have much better reflexes and coordination while properly seated.
i have quite the wide pallet when it comes to games, even amnisia a little bit, i even played world of warcraft for a while.
I know AMD cards are the only ones good for bitcoin mining, Nvidia's GTX 680 gets like 100 or less mh/s while AMD's HD 7970 can get 550-650(stock)-800+ (when overclocked by user and maybe custom cooled with waterblock).
I'm really curious to know what the mobile card can do, if it's good like it's bigger siblings and does like 250-300 mh/s or if it's been tuned down alot cause it's mobile.
Thanks if you can let me know when you get your laptop.
