is it possible to combine two different graphics card together
what the title says, i would like to be able to sli games but right now i have a intel hd 4000(integrated graphics card) and geforce gt 520(dedicated graphics card) so i was wanting to know if there would be any way to make them work together to improve gaming performance.

If you really have Ivy bridge or not, then trying this one. http://lucidlogix.com/product-virtu1.html

They're design to combine Intel graphic and AMD/Geforce. Be warning, it is your own risk because they're still fix bug. Might or might not possible to work on Haswell.

thast pretty much how the intel notebooks work with the switchable graphics card
they write the output frame buffer to the intel igp ram to be displayed thru the igp

i have crossfired 7950s and frankly its a pain in the ass...even water cooled the cards run much hotter and the system can be unstable compared to single card

you can run them independant
if you want a monitor on the gt520 and another monitor on the intel 4000

but for gaming, both would be about the same performance
imho, sell or return the gt520 and buy a better card
amd 7750-7770 or gtx650 do not need alot of power

anything bigger may need a new power supply

And how u can do it?
having read a bit you will need to watch out for cpu bottlenecking, I still havent found out clearly how to do it but be aware of the potential cpu bottlenecking.
I am not aware of any working solution to give you both on chip CPU graphics AND a second GPU at the same time.

plug one monitor into each gpu

you cannot run both at the same time on a monitor
*unless its a notebook, parts of both are used
