My computer freezes up when playing games
Okay so the first time this happened was 2 nights ago. I was playing Day of defeat source, for about 2 minutes, then it froze up. I wasn't even able to turn off my computer, I tried pressing the button on the front of my computer but that didn't work, so i had to flip the switch in the back. The next day I tried playing it again, but it did the exact same thing. I tested my computer out with some other games, and they all worked perfectly fine, so i thought it was just something wrong with day of defeat. But today I was playing Counter Strike:GO, for about half an hour, and then it froze, once again couldn't even shut it down, so i had to flip the switch in the back.
I should also mention that I installed a new monitor recently, could that have something to do with it?

temps fine?

It could be your Windows installation. Verify game cache and make sure temps aren't getting too high. Turn off all background programs when gaming, do anti-virus & anti-spyware scan etc. If nothing works you might need to restore Windows to an earlier date when it worked right or do a full Windows reinstall.
what driver ver are you using?
try rolling back to 314.22

My computer wasn't very warm when playing these games, I've felt it get much hotter in the past, and it didn't crash back then. Also, I already verifyed the game cache.
I'll do a full virus scan and let you know what the results are when its done.
to watch temps, use hwmonitor

the cpu and gpu should be good to around 90-100c
Motherboard, PSU, RAM, hard drive, or video card would be my guesses. What do you have to substitute to test?

Sorry if this is a stupid question to ask. But, when I downloaded that program from cnet, i got a warning saying that the publisher is unknown. Is that normal?

The only thing i could think of would be to use parts from either my dad or brother's computers....
I'll see if I can convince them to let me borrow some of their parts.

Okay so I did some tests. And the hottest my gpu got was 71c
That card's good for another 26 degrees, you overclocking anything that could be causing stability issues?
